Clark had followed Ally through the portal which caused him to be gone for a month Kate's birthday was today and she was worried about her dad so she couldn't celebrate since she missed him. She woke up with a dreadful feeling in her gut as she walked downstairs she saw her mother, grandpa, and brothers sitting at the table with birthday pancakes waiting for her.

"Happy birthday!" They all cheered making her groan

"Thank you but I don't want to celebrate this year," Kate stated to the three

"Why not, honey?" Sam asked with concern

"Dad's not here and I don't want to celebrate without him," Kate explained in a soft tone

"Oh, baby," Lois whispered as she pulled her in for a hug

"I love you but I just don't wanna do anything," Kate spoke as she pulled away

"Let's at least get a booth at the diner then we'll come home and watch a movie or something," Lois suggested to the blonde

"Anyways, welcome to the world of a fifteen-year-old," Jon remarked getting up to hug their sister

"Thank you," Kate mumbled as they all hugged her

"Are you still coming with us to the rally?" Lois asked her daughter

"Yeah, let me just get ready," Kate responded before heading back up to her room

She quickly got dressed before meeting them downstairs again so they could head out to help with the voting in support of Lana, once they got to the center Kate walked over to Marcus where she was going to help with flyers alongside him.

"Happy birthday, baby," Marcus greeted before kissing her cheek

"Thank you but I'm not planning on doing anything today so no gifts," Kate reminded the boy

"Why not, it's your special day?" Marcus asked in confusion

"Dad's away on a story and I want everyone to be together before doing anything," Kate covered making him nod

"My dad missed my birthday once for work and I didn't talk to him for a couple of days after," Marcus spoke with a soft smile

"Ooh, I bet he hated that," Kate joked with a chuckle

"Oh, he hated it with a passion," Marcus spoke with a laugh

"Yeah, I miss my dad but I know he's off doing what he loves," Kate spoke in a soft tone

"I'm sure that wishes he was here too, have you talked to him yet today?" Marcus asked making her pause

"He doesn't use his personal phone when he's a on story because he likes to call it a distraction," Kate lied with a fake smile

"Oh, gotcha," Marcus spoke as he looked back at the flyers

"So once we get these settled are we going to go door to door?" Kate questioned looking at him

"Yeah, once we get them organized unless you'd rather answer phone calls?" Marcus asked making her shake her head

"I think we're good going house to house," Kate spoke making him chuckle

Marcus chuckled before they started walking and knocking on doors, Kate had gone home shortly after since they had already delivered all the flyers they had. The sun had started to set as she stood on the porch with Jordan before Lois came out.

"Hey, you need to find a new spot, brooding on the porch is my thing," Lois joked as she came up to them

"Sarah gave this back to me," Jordan spoke showing the necklace

"You're gonna be okay," Kate whispered in comfort

"I don't know what to do," Jordan admitted with sadness

"Sometimes, with heartbreak, you just have to feel it and on the bright side, you did kind of save your mom's life tonight," Lois comforted in response

"Yeah, I guess," Jordan mumbled in response

"Hold on, I think that warrants way more enthusiasm. It's kind of hard for me to watch you guys grow up so fast and sometimes it feels like you guys were running around in diapers just yesterday but I do want you to know how proud I am of the hero you are becoming," Lois stated to her kids

"And so is dad," Kate added to her brother

"Hey, look, Jon's home," Jordan spoke before walking to the steps before Lois grabbed him

"That's not our Jonathan, where's Clark?" Lois asked the version of Jon

"He was too late," Bizarro-Jon responded to them
