Kate was upstairs getting ready for school when the boys barged into her room in a rush, she scoffed and looked at them while giving them a look. She was just happy that she had decided to get dressed soon after she woke up because if not then they would all be in torture at this moment.

"I'm in the middle of getting ready," Kate reminded her brothers

"Right, we will leave," Jordan spoke to his sister

"After you agree with me that Jordan is hopelessly in love with Sarah," Jon corrected his twin

"I mean he does have a point, Jordan," Kate added in support

"We're just friends," Jordan reminded his siblings

"We aren't talking about dating, we are talking about your feelings for her," Jon reminded with a smirk

"Kids, the bus'll be here in a minute!" Clark yelled at the bottom of the stairs

"Hey, which one's mine?" Jon asked as they came downstairs

"All right, guys, we're probably gonna have another late night working on this Edge case," Lois explained to her kids

All right, we were gonna see Sarah's revue tonight anyway," Jordan responded to his mother

"You guys sure are spending quite a bit of time together for just being friends," Clark commented to his oldest

"Just trying to support her, Dad, she said she just wanted to be friends," Jordan stated for the third time today

"Might be more than that, but I will leave it up to her to tell you," Kate commented to her brother

"The bus is pulling up," Clark reminded before they nodded

"All right, there are leftovers in the fridge, okay?" Lois reminded before they all walked out

They had gone to school, Jordan was off with Sarah and Jon was off doing whatever whereas Kate was in the library with Marcus. She was trying to study for a big test coming up while Marcus was screwing around and trying to throw her off.

"Mas, I'm glad that you can just wing it but I, however, need to study to pass this test," Kate spoke in a slow tone

"I'm sure that you'll do great no matter what," Marcus comforted the blonde

"Well, thank you for the vote of confidence but that does not make good on high school grade cards," Kate remarked causing him to chuckle

"Such a worry bug," Marcus joked while watching her

"And you are such a careless bug," Kate scolded while looking at him

"The real reason as to why we work," Marcus charmed the girl

"Yeah but you still haven't asked me out so the talk is talk," Kate added causing him to roll his eyes

"Talk is Talk," Marcus agreed with her

"Don't you have a picture book is look at and act like you're reading?" Kate questioned the boy

"You wound me, Kent," Marcus remarked with a fake expression

Jordan and Clark still weren't back from the fortress and everyone was getting worried, Sam was still on the front porch waiting for the phone call. Jon and Kate walked outside for some air and to talk to their grandfather as they wanted answers about why he had done it.

"Just waiting to hear back from my team and then we'll get everything straightened out with Jordan and your dad," Sam stated as Kate and Jon came outside

"Little late for that, isn't it? Why'd you do it?" Jon asked in anger

"Why'd you build those weapons to hurt our dad?" Kate asked their grandfather

"Your father's the most powerful being this world's ever known and my job is to keep us safe, which means being prepared for any scenario, no matter how unlikely. You and I, we're not like your dad or even Jordan," Sam explained in a soft tone

"He's my twin brother," Jon defended to the man

"Yes, but the minute his powers surfaced, you and him began walking two very different paths,"

"That scares you, doesn't it?" Kate questioned the man

"It does," Sam admitted the the girl

"You know, I think you're wrong about you and us being alike," Jon stated with a scoff

"How so?" Sam questioned his grandson

"We could never be scared of our family, no matter what powers they might have," Kate added in support

"Jonathan, Kate, you haven't seen the things I have," Sam started to defend

"Yeah, you're right but in the end, I don't think that would matter 'cause I'd still trust them, and you'd still be a coward," Jon seethed to the older man before walking off

Kate had followed Jon inside, Sam had watched them walk back inside after scolding him. The Kents were sitting at the table waiting and listening to the crickets chirp in the background, Kate was getting annoyed from the sounds in the background and her growing worry.

"Can we just, like, call them or something?" Kate questioned their mother

"It's named the Fortress of Solitude for a reason and I know it sucks but we just have to be patient, okay?" Lois spoke in a soft tone

"Hey, Mom, I think it's for you, Mom?" Jon asked as he saw his mother's face

"She shouldn't have called, not this time," Emily stated taking the ELT

"This isn't you," Lois spoke keeping her at an arm's length

"Not anymore," Emily spoke in a soft tone

"Get out of here, keep hitting this till he comes, It's all we can do," Sam stated handing them an ELT

"We need to go to the barn," Kate stated pulling her mother

"I'll keep 'em busy," Sam stated before they ran outside

"Did you take his weapon? Kyle?" Lois asked in confusion

"I just came from the performance, Lana was scared so what's going on?" Kyle asked the three

"Edge sent people to kill me," Lois responded to the firefighter

"It's not gonna happen," Jon stated pointing the gun

"Pretty good with that thing, We're not just gonna kill you, Lois, he wanted you to suffer first," Kyle stated holding her and Jon before Clark came in

Clark gave them a nod to see if they were okay causing them to each nod in confirmation, Jon and Kate had hugged their mother before they went inside where Sam was calling his team for backup.
