The day started with the sunrise as Clark was excited about an upcoming festival that the town was having. They all went outside to collect some corn for the festival, Kate loved seeing her father so happy and worked up about something other than Superman or work.

"Harvest Fest?" Jordan asked in confusion

"So, is that why you've been Supermanning all week? So you free up some time to go to this?" Kate asked with confusion

"It's a tradition, it goes back to when Smallville was established plus it's one of the best things about being here," Clark explained to his kids

"I have been hearing about this from your dad since we first started dating," Lois explained to their kids

"Bedtime stories to help you sleep, or what?" Jon questioned his mother making her chuckle

"Either way, it doesn't sound like much of a festival, just sounds like a whole bunch of people selling stuff," Jordan deadpanned to their dad

"Not just sell, share! You know, whatever they can, with anyone who needs it," Clark explained some more

"Think of it as Smallville's version of Burning Man," Lois added as well

"Minus the fires and BO, I hope," Jon joked with their parents

"Your grandmother loved it, okay? She used to spend weeks planning what we were gonna donate, she made lists and spreadsheets," Clark spoke with a smile as he remembered

"Your dad learned a lot about giving and helping people in need from this, your dad's not Superman just 'cause he has powers, you know," Lois added in support

"Aw, thanks, baby, I know you guys aren't sold, but when you see everyone come together like this, the... the sense of community, it's the best of what Smallville is," Clark spoke in response

"It just doesn't sound like much of a festival," Kate spoke in support of her brothers

"Well, they have all that stuff too, the food stands alone, funnel cakes, fried cheese curds, the Fishers! Every year, they have this "Sugar Bowl" stand, they make chocolate bacon, it's so good!" Clark exclaimed with excitement

"Uh, Eliza's vegetarian, so," Jon corrected his father

"Hey, I'm glad she's finally able to come visit," Lois commented with a smile

"The Harvest Fest is special, okay? Eliza's gonna love it, you're gonna love it all of you are gonna love it," Clark stated with a wide smile

After school, they headed to town to help set up and look around. Eliza ended up canceling and breaking up with Jon which made Kate and Jordan share a look before trying to cheer their brother up. Kate was helping Jon set up before Marcus came up to them causing Jon to walk away to give them a minute.

"Hey," Kate greeted with a soft smile

"Hey, I'm sorry for being distant," Marcus spoke causing her to nod

"You kissed me and made it all complicated," Kate stated to the boy

"I know and I'm sorry, I just needed some time to wrap my head around the kiss and how it happened," Marcus explained before she hugged him

"I meant what I said at the party," Kate reminded as they pulled away

"Well, I'm glad that you missed me, Kent," Marcus joked before he started helping her set up

"So, I'm pretty sure that Jordan and Sarah are here on a date," Kate spoke making him look at her

"What do you mean?" Marcus asked with confusion

"I mean that today at school, Sarah asked Jordan to come here with her and he said he would love to so they are here together," Kate explained some more

"Well, I'm glad that she had finally asked him out rather than rambled on to mom about it," Marcus admitted with a chuckle

"I'm happy that we are talking again," Kate admitted in a soft tone

"Don't become all soft on me, Sweetheart," Marcus joked punching her shoulder

"Ouch, you know how to hurt a girl," Kate joked back at him

Harvestfest was a bust for the town and Kate had felt bad for her dad since she knew he was looking forward to the festival and feeling closer to his mom since she passed. Marcus gave her nod letting her know that it was okay for her to go be with her family.
