Lois was trying to convince her kids to let her come to the Valentine's dance after her chemo they were a bit worried about how she might feel after but she was persistent on going. Kate had picked out a Dark Forset Green skinny strap dress for the dance and Marcus was going to wear a Dark Green and black flower on the side to match her.

"I think that's everything and your dad and I will meet you at the dance after my treatment," Lois explained as she packed

"Mom, you don't need to come, okay? Grandpa said he'd cover for you," Kate stated to their mother

"There's gonna be plenty of chaperones," Jon added in agreement

"But it's the Valentine's Day Dance and I wanna be there," Lois reminded looking at them

"You're getting a round of chemo and maybe take a rest after and last time, you were super exhausted, remember?" Jordan asked looking at her

"I was a little fatigued, but not until the next day besides, this is my one chance to see you two dressed in anything other than hoodies and tennis shoes so if you really wanna make me happy, you'll put on a suit, and I don't know, maybe comb your hair," Lois directed her sons

"Okay, I would, but Candice never lets me in the bathroom," Jordan rambled in response

"Jordan, we have talked about this, she's our guest," Lois reminded the boy

"No, seriously, though, it's been three weeks of cold showers, not to mention waiting for the bathroom, I mean we are lucky that you let Kate have her own bathroom so we could use it whenever," Jordan remarked with a groan

"Okay, she's looking for a place to stay, it's just taking longer than expected," Jon defended his girlfriend

"I'm starting to think she's my mortal enemy," Jordan joked before Candice came in

"Oh, good, you're still here, I thought you would like a little treat during your session today," Candice spoke handing her a muffin

"Aw, that is so sweet of you," Lois spoke with a smile

"Thanks again for taking me dress-shopping and I can't wait to show it off at the dance," Candice joked around with the woman

"You're gonna look so beautiful and all right, wish me luck," Lois stated as she stood up

"Round two, you're gonna crush it today, Mrs. Lane," Candice spoke before they left

Kate had patted Jordan's back before leaving to go get ready with Sarah and Nat, she had decided to do light makeup since she wanted to look natural in the pictures that her family was planning on taking.

"Are you excited for the dance tonight?" Nat asked looking at Kate

"Yeah, I'm surprised that you signed up to go," Kate responded to the girl

"What's that supposed to mean?" Nat questioned in return

"I think what Kate means is that you'd think that you would rather be at home working on your suit," Sarah spoke trying to calm

"That is exactly what I meant but you look amazing so I'm not disappointed," Kate agreed with a smile

"I'm nervous though," Nat admitted in a shy voice

"Is it because you going with Mateo?" Sarah questioned with a smirk

"Maybe just a little bit," Nat admitted with a shy chuckle

"Well, Kate you can relate, right? First school dance with Marcus," Sarah questioned making Kate roll her eyes

"Yeah, you could say that so Nat and I can push through it together," Kate joked looking at the girl

"Deal but whatever you do, do not leave me," Nat scolded with a look

Kate nodded before going to change in her dress, the girls had finished getting ready before heading downstairs for pictures and then heading to the dance. Kate and Marcus were dancing to the slow song as Sam was recording them dancing from the distance.

"You look beautiful tonight," Marcus spoke as he looked at her

"Thank you but I think you look better," Kate corrected her boyfriend

"I would kiss you but your grandpa kind of scares me," Marcus admitted making her laugh

"It's the soldier in him," Kate joked looking at him

"I love you," Marcus spoke as he pulled her closer

"I love you, too," Kate stated as she laid her head on his shoulder

"I'm sorry that your mom couldn't make it," Marcus whispered as he rubbed her back

"It's okay, we got pictures to show her," Kate responded as she closed her eyes

They danced some more before going to get something to drink, the night had ended and Kate went back home with the boys where they had reenacted the dance since Lois couldn't make it. Kate and Jordan had ended up dancing together which Kate wouldn't admit it but she actually had fun doing so.
