silence. it was almost comical. heeseung's confused face kind of resembled the drunken heeseung jake had first told this to.
"i like you like you like mirae. i'm... in love with you... i love you, hee," jake finished saying.
heeseung remained silent. he had no idea this was what jake had been hiding from him. but it made no sense in his head. why, then, was jake pulling himself away? why not closer? why did he avoid physical contact with him?
why?
"i didn't want to tell you before because i didn't know how you would react. and i didn't want to tell you now because i know there's no chance of anything happening. so you can just ignore my confession. i just needed to get it out before—

heeseung had never seen jake lose his cool like this, not against someone at least. much less towards him.

having this conversation in the middle of the morning outside in early november wasn't the best choice, it was actually very cold. but jake just wanted to say everything now. because he had this strange feeling that it was now or never.
"anyway, that's only the first thing of two."
"r-right, you were saying you needed to get this out before something but i interrupted you. sorry, go ahead," heeseung fumbled with his words. his head was a current mess.
was what jake was about to say that he had found someone else? maybe he was starting to see someone? and he needed to vent to let his feelings towards heeseung go...?
