jake had been early. 20 minutes early to be precise. he didn't expect heeseung to arrive so he just stayed seated in a bench right outside the park's entrance.

many people walked by, some moms with their kids, some group of friends, elderly people, couples. lee heeseung walking right towards him. jake stood up immediately almost losing his balance in the attempt. he regained his composure after stumbling and smiled like nothing had happened.

"jake... i didn't know you were waiting, have you been here for long?" heeseung inquired softly.

"oh, no! i just arrived, i didn't wait for long."

heeseung nodded visibly relaxing. he looked like he was about to say something but jake was quicker.

"let's go in! i'm sure you're dying to see the place," jake exclaimed and pulled heeseung by his wrist.

heeseung wanted to say, "i'm actually only dying to know what you think of me and to be with you."

but he didn't.

instead, he let himself be dragged throughout the park while jake showed him the best spots and the prettiest places. there were several ponds, some small gardens and they actually could see some animals heeseung wasn't used to seeing in person.

an hour passed by and they had walked for too long. jake suggested they rest for a bit and they sat down, but heeseung had other plans. he couldn't rest until he got a response from jake, and he had been in the limbo for far too long.

heeseung cleared his throat. "jake, about what we were going to talk about..."

"...right," jake bit his lip. "you see, i was thinking the other day that i didn't really hear you out... and i also didn't say everything i wanted to say."

the older nodded in agreement. "it's been years but i haven't heard your side of the story, and honestly i think we both need to know each other's point of view to truly understand. for starters, i'd like to ask what was it about mirae last time? why'd you bring her into the conversation?"

jake was perplexed. was heeseung serious or was he suffering from amnesia?

since heeseung didn't keep talking, jake answered.

"i saw her kiss you once. and right before you said you liked me, i had seen you two kissing. you liked mirae and you kissed her at school, right in front of me..."

"i-i did like her but not like i liked you. and i didn't kiss her, she kissed me. both times, but the second, i was sure i only saw her as a friend. i was still confused when you confessed to me but it only helped me open my eyes... i didn't know you'd seen us so i never explained..."
