Adam looks at his hand ("Not the best start I could have, but I've had worse") he thought "I set a monster and two face down cards, that's all for me" Adam stated, Camula smiled "I will admit, you're a determined one, but it won't help you" Camula said, as she drew her card "I play Illusion Gate!" She shouted, as a large stone door appeared behind Camula "Dammit..." Adam hissed "Im sure you remember it's effect, when Illusion Gate is played, all monsters on the field are destroyed and I can summon any monster you played, and all I need as sacrifice is a soul to offer to the shadows, should I lose this duel!" Camula shouted, Adam growled, Camula's necklace started glowing as a dark haze washed over everyone, excluding her and Adam "Never underestimate the power of the shadow, with this necklace, I can do anything. Now which soul should I take?" Camula asked.
Adam gritted his teeth with stress, when the broken amulet around his neck started glowing "What the..?" He asked, when the other half rose from his pocket and attached to it, creating a light that disbursed the black haze "What?!" Camula shouted "It's Adam's amulet, it's canceling out Camula's necklace" Alexis said "But where'd he get the second half?" Bastion asked "I remember what the Grave keeper cheif said, about the halves of this thing" Adam said
Flashback
As Adam was leaving for Camula's castle, he snuck off to Ms. Fontaine's office to see Atticus and noticed the other half of the amulet around his neck, when Atticus' eyes cracked open and he grabbed Adam's hand "Treat...my sister...well" he stained, before closing his eyes "You got it" Adam replied
Present
"Forgive me, Alexis, but I snagged the other half off your brother, but looks like it came in handy in the end" Adam stated "It's fine, it saved our lives" Alexis replied, Adam turned to Camula "Sorry, I'm not letting you take anyone else for your collection, you Volkihar reject!" Adam shouted "I think not, Illusion Gate, open your doors and take my soul as a sacrifice, an unleash your power on the field!" Camula yelled as another dark haze got from the doors, destroying Adam's face down monster "Now I can summon your monster to my side of the field!" Camula shouted "The hell you will! I activate my own effect, the card you destroyed was Red-Eyes Baby Dragon, and since he had Red-Eyes in his name, I can activate my trap, Red-Eyes Spirit to bring him back, in defense mode for good measure" Adam stated as the small dragon rose to the field.
"No matter, I'll still win" Camula said "What the hell ever" Adam snapped "I summon, Zombie Werewolf!" Camula shouted as the beast appeared on the field "You must think, I'm a fool" Camula said "What?" Adam asked "I know how that card works, once destroyed you can summon a level seven or lower Red-Eyes monster from your deck" Camula stated, Adam's eyes widened "The hell? How?!" He shouted "Did you think my bats were decorative? They were spies, giving me information on each of your decks, Crowler's, Zane's and yours, you can't win" Camula stated "Yeah yeah, keep boasting, it'll make your screams of pain that much more musical" Adam hissed "How confident, such a shame it's misplaced" Camula said, Adam drew his next card "If you won't attack my baby dragon, the I guess I'm gonna need to go off brand, and sacrifice my baby dragon to call up Summoned Skull!" Adam shouted as the skeletal monster roared.
"I didn't know he had that in his deck" Alexis said "It's a sweet card" Jaden said "Yes, but will it be enough?" Bastion asked "Summoned Skull, destroy that werewolf!" Adam yelled as the wereolf was his with Summoned Skull's lightning, destroying it, cutting Camula's life points down to 2700 "Did you forget?When Zombie Werewolf is destroyed, another rises from by deck with 500 more attack points" Camula stated as the stronger werewolf appeared with a howl, Adam set another card "You can have it, now go" he said, Camula smiled and drew her card "I play pot of greed, letting me draw two more cards. Adam...I will admit your dedication is admirable, too bad it won't get you anywhere" Camula said "Keep talking, go ahead..." Adam growled "Goodbye, my werewolf, I sacrifice you to summon Vampire Lord, and remove him from play to summon Vampire Genesis!" Camula shouted as the massive vampire formed and roared.
Adam gridded his teeth at the sight of the monster "It's back" he whispered "Now I play Genesis Crisis, now every turn a zombie monster is transferred directly to my hand, and with Vampire Genesis, I can discard it and summon another with a lower level, so I sacrifice Ryo Kokki to summon back Vamp's best friend, Zombie Werewolf!" Camula shouted "Now I notice you have a lot of facedown cards, it would be a shame if they disappeared, thanks to Giant Trunade!" Camula shouted, as a strong wind blew all the spells and traps back into the hands "Damn!" Adam shouted "Yes you are, Vampire Genesis, Crimson Storm!" Camula shouted as the large vampire attacked Summoned Skull, destroying it and bringing Adam's life points down to 3500 "There goes that Summonded Skull" Chazz said "Now Adam's wide open!" Alexis shouted "Hand in there, dad..." Zed whispered "Go, Zombie Werwolf!" Camula shouted as the wolf leaped forward and slashed Adam, bringing his life points down to 1800.
Adam held his torso in pain, growling "Damn it all to Hell and back..." he hissed "My such a vulgar mouth...you really have to watch that kind of tone in front of your friends" Camula taunted "Piss off, I could curse you out to where my voice will be permanently branded on your soul, so shut your mouth, I have people to save" Adam said, drawing his card "Funny, we aren't that different" Camula replied "What?" Adam asked "You see, centuries ago, the vampire were a proud race, living in harmony with our mortal brothers and sisters, until the war, no one knows who struck first, but the battle was fierce, no soldier or child was spared, I was the last vampire and ran hiding, for years I slept in a coffin until a stranger with the power of the shadow running through his veins offered me choice, spend eternity in my tomb, or accept his shadow charm and join his quest for the Sacred Beasts. For every duelist I defeat, I would gain their soul, that I would use to resurrect my fallen vampire army, to suck our revenge from humanity!" Camula explained.
Silence fell "You could have saved the backstory, but whatever. I refuse to let humanity fall to some random vampire chick with a grudge against people that are probably long dead!" Adam snapped, Camula's eyes narrowed "As if you could ever stop me!" she shouted, Adam drew his card and smiled "This is it, I summon The Black Stone of Legend!" Adam said as the stone said "And with that, I can sacrifice it and summon a Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the field" Adam stated as the dragon flew it "Hah! That dragon could never beat my Vampire Genesis" Camula said "Maybe not, but it won't have to, because I sacrifice my Red-Eyes to summon Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon!" Adam shouted as the dark wyvern rose "With his effect, it gains 300 attack for each dragon in my grave, boosting it's attack to 3300" Adam stated, the dragon roared as it's power increased "Hold up, I'm not done, I actively The Claw of Hermos, sending Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon to the grave to summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword and equip it to my darkness dragon to give it even more attack points, 500 for each dragon in my grave plus and extra thousand, stacking up to 5800!" Adam yelled.
The dragon grew even larger "No, it can't be!" Camula shouted "Time to pay for your actions, Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, Dark Destroyer Flame! Put that Zombie Werewolf back in the ground!" Adam yelled, as the dragon blasted the werewolf with dark fire, incinerating it and the rest of Camula's life points, blowing out the castle's widows and winning Adam the duel "Done..." Adam hissed, Camula fell to her knees as the Illuion Gate appeared again, opening a dragging Camula into it, ready to take her soul, Zed looked with horror, when a sudden fireball blasted the gate to pieces, everyone looked over to see Adam with and Inferno Fire Blast card in his hand, he walked over and looked down at Camula, she looked up at him "Why...why did you save me?" Camula asked "Oh trust me, under any other circumstance, I would have let your soul leave, but what kind of father would I be if I didn't provide for my child?" Adam said, he reached down to Camula's neck and snatched the necklace off it.
Camula took a sudden deep breath "I...feel free" she said, Adam knelt down to Camula "Look, Zed over there, he's my son from the future, and he's head over heels for you, so I want you to take care of him, but hurt him and there isn't a force in existence that can reverse what I do to you" Adam hissed, Camula nodded, as Zed walked over "Camula..." he said "Zed...my dearest" she said, Zed shed tears of joy as Camula jumped into his embrace, the two shared a loving hug, that turned into a passionate kiss. Suddenly Camula's doll of Zane turned back into the real thing, not long afterwards, Crowler rose from Chazz's pocket "Hey!" Chazz yelled "Get me out of this pocket, I-" Corlwe r stopped when he noticed Zed kissing Camula "What is he-" Adam glared at Crowler with a look that said "Ruin this, and I will end you painfully" Crowler promptly fell silent.
(Hey, sorry these chapters took so long to come out, and sorry if they're a little low quality, I had a helluva lot to do, on top of another book I'm working on, but I hope you enjoy anyway)
