Adam woke up and let out a yawn "Morning" a voice said, Adam turned and saw Alexis standing over him "Morning" Adam groaned, sitting up "Why're you in my room? Aren't there rules against that?" Adam asked "Well, today's Duel Monster Spirit Day, so I decided to take a risk for you. You know, to celebrate" Alexis said, leaning down and kissing Adam's cheek "You're too good for me" Adam chuckled, he stood up "How're your burns?" He asked "Feeling a lot better, still hurts a bit, but Ms. Fontaine said I should be good to go by next week" Alexis said "Good. So you said it was Duel Monster Spirit Day. What's the deal with that?" Adam asked "Well..." Alexis said.
Later that day
Adam walked around, looking for a costume to wear "I didn't take you for the type to play dress up, Adam" Jaden said "I'm not, but Alexis told me she and Zed were dressing up, so it'd be a family thing" Adam said, just then Alexis, Zed and Camula stepped in "Ah! Duel Monsters, please spare me!" Chumley shouted "Chill, dude" Zed replied "Yeah, it's just a costume. I'm going as Harpy Lady" Alexis stated "I'm me, Magician of Black Chaos!" Zed shoute, Adam turned to Camula "How're you taking this?" Adam asked "It's only for a day, besides, I actually think he looks good in that outfit" she replied "Aww, thanks" Zed replied "So dad, what're you going as?" Zed asked, Adam grabbed a box and smiled, he slipped into the costume "Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, and I don't even need to add the wings" Adam stated, growing his own "You all look so cool!" Jaden shouted "That reminds me, what are you gonna be, Jaden?" Alexis asked, Jaden though for a second, grabbing a myriad of costume pieces and putting them all together "This!" Jaden shouted "Okay, and what exactly is that?" Syrus asked "Well I wanted to be a few monsters, so I took a couple pieces from each of them" Jaden replied "Points for effort" Adam replied "I guess no one will have the same costume as you" Alexis said "Yeah, thank goodness" Syrus replied "You got that right" Chumley said.
The sound of heavy stomping approached as everyone turned to see Chazz walking up in his costume "Chazz dressed up as XYZ-Dragon Cannon" Jaden stated "Now this is a costume!" Chazz shouted "Well you sure don't hold back" Adam said "Give him some credit, it's a good costume" Alexis replied "Is that Alexis?" Chazz asked, blushing, Adam's eyes turned red "Yes it's is. What of it?" He growled, emitting a fiery aura, Chazz's blush was replaced by paleness "N-Nothing! Nothing at all!" he replied "Though so" Adam replied "Uh..Anyway, let's get down to business and start this costume duel" Chazz said "Costume duel?" Adam asked "Chazz and I are gonna be hosting a duel, where two people are gonna duel in their costumes" Syrus stated "Sounds interesting. I'll step up then" Adam replied "Come on, Adam. It's my turn" Jaden stated "No, this isn't a shadow duel, so technically I'm not breaking our deal" Adam stated, Jaden was about to reply but fell silent, knowing Adam was telling the truth until his head perked up "Hey, we can duel each other" he stated, Adam's eyes flashed red as he smiled "Oh? You want to go, the we can-" Adam was cut off by a sudden flash of light.
The group turned to see Atticus with a camera in his hand "What are you doing?" Alexis asked "You know, just big brother stuff, like taking embarrassing photos that I can show mom and dad later" Atticus replied "No you will not!" Alexis snapped "And Uncle Doug and Aunt Gale and Cousin Alana" Atticus said, Alexis swiped at her bother chasing after him "You're not showing anyone those. Give me that camera!" She shouted "Good luck!" Adam shouted, he turned to Jaden "Now, back to business, I-" Adam was cut off again "I'll duel" a voice said, the group turned to see "Dark Magician Girl?" Everyone, save for Adam said "You want to duel me?" Adam "Sure. If you don't mind of course" the girl said "Alright then. Jaden, under any other circumstance I'd shut this girl down and duel you instead, but I'm already in a generous mood today. Hope you understand" Adam stated "That's cool. I'll just get to see more of what you can do, and it'll be that much easier to beat you!" Jaden replied with a smiled "Whatever you say" Adam chuckled.
