Adam slept peacefully, a calm smile on his face, the morning sunlight starting to seep through his curtains "Alright, ready, get set, and fire!" Bastion shouted, causing a barrelhead dragon to shoot off it's guns, Adam woke up and fell out of his bed, looking around frantically "Who in the-" Adam stopped at the sight of Bastion standing with Jaden, Syrus and Chumley "What is wrong with you?!" He yelled "Good morning, Adam" Bastion said, Adam's eye twitched with rage "Now that you're up, how about we-" Jaden cut Bastion off "Uh...Bastion" he said shakily "What is it?" Bastion asked, Jaden pointed at Adam, staring at Bastion with glowing red eyes, and a wrathful fiery aura

"Either you explain why the hell you woke me up, or you start running, all of you" Adam hissed "Can we have a ten second head start?" Syrus asked "Nine!" Adam shouted, the others ran out of the room in fear.
After a long winded chase, and calming Adam down with Alexis' help, Adam joined the group Bastion formed for duel exercises, Adam thought this meant practicing dueling, but when they started, he was disappointed "One, two, draw!" Bastion repeated "Well, this was worth getting up for" Jaden said "There is no word to describe the level of bullshit this is, you wake me up with gunshots, and you bring us out here to practice drawing cards? I could still be in the damn bed!" Adam yelled, no one responded. Chumley noticed the card Syrus was drawing and grabbed his wrist to look at it "Is that Thunder Nyan Nyan?" He asked "Yeah it it, I got her a while back. I kinda have a card crush on her" Syrus replied "A what?" Adam asked "Card crush, that's so lame Syrus. At least on that card" Chumley replied, holding up a card of his own Dian Keto the Cure Master "Oh uh...she sure is pretty" Syrus replied "Totally reminds me of my girlfriend back home, her name's Sally, no wait, Adriana" Chumley said, Adam felt his eye twitch.
"Hey Jaden, do you have any card crushes in your deck?" Syrus asked "Better believe it, they bring loads of luck" Jaden replied "What about you, Adam?" Syrus asked "I don't need one because I have an actual girlfriend to love, or did you all forget Alexis?" Adam stated "I beg your pardon?! We're training here! And training, gentlemen, doesn't involve sitting around and talking about birds!" Bastion shouted "Did he say birds?" Syrus asked "I think Bastion doesn't have a card crush" Chumley stated "A crush on a card? Of course not! That's simply irrational, illogical and ridiculous!" Bastion yelled ("At least he gets it") Adam thought, until he noticed a small shade of red form on Bastions face "Or not" Adam groaned "Looks, let's just get back to our dueling exercises" Bastion said "Sure, but I have plans to play solitaire with Thunder Nyan Nyan in fifteen" Syrus said "What?!" Bastion and Adam yelled "You'll be breaking that date, and soon breaking a sweat. Now gentlemen, back to our training" Bastion stated "And into the dog house for me, she hates when I cancel on her" Syrus said "Somehow, I think she'll understand, Syrus" Jaden said "I'm done here, I heading back. If I need practice drawing a card, I could have an actual duel. Have fun gawking at cards" Adam said, walking away ("I have the weirdest friends") he thought.
Banner looked at his classroom, taking notice of the many empty seats "There sure are a lot of absences, must be a bug going around" he said ("None that I've heard of. Something's definitely in the air, besides all that snoring") Bastion thought, as Jaden, Syrus and Chumley slept, suddenly a Ra Yellow girl walked in with a bag in her arms "May I help you?" Banner asked "Yes, do you recognize this bag?" The girl asked "Yes, it's one of my student's, why?" Banner answered, as Jaden woke up. The group walked through the forest, Jaden carrying a bag and and Sliger Red uniform "I wonder why that pack was left way out here" he said "Indeed, and Jaden, where it's owner is" Bastion said "I hope no one's hurt" Banner said, as the group called out for the potential owner of the bag, until they came across a large structure, a colosseum "What the hell?" Adam whispered "Where'd that come from?" Jaden asked "I'm going in!" Bastion stated, running ahead "Wait up!" Syrus called out "Ugh, running" Chumley complained "Shut it" Adam snapped.
As the group entered the colosseum, they noticed multiple students around the top "Hey, that guy's from class" Syrus said "Yeah, so is she" Chumley stated "Oh my" Banner said "Crowler?!" Chazz yelled, the group looked up to see Crowler attempt to push a large rock "What are you doing?" Syrus asked "A man's work" Crowler answered "My, they must have been short on men" Banner replied "Damn!" Adam laughed, but his laugh was cut short at the sight of a large tiger, the tiger ran at the group but, Camula flashed her fangs, causing the cat to halt and Adam swung his hand, creating an arc of fire to keep it at bay "Nice work" Adam said, Camula twirled her parasol and smiled "That's my lady" Zed stated, kissing Camula's cheek "First a colosseum, then a tiger? What's next a gladiator?" Banner asked "Actually, she prefers the term 'Amazon'" Crowler stated "Amazon?" Banner asked "That's right" a voice said.
Adam disbursed the fire to reveal a muscular woman with dark hair "And thanks to your friends, I've been able to finish my glorious arena!" She said "Arena for what?" Jaden asked, the woman held up her hand and the tiger walked up to her, letting the woman let it "Dueling" she stated. The students and Crowler the woman gathered up lined up in front of her "Well done, very good work on the arena, now as promised, your payment, rare cards, until next time" She stated "The hell is going on?" Adam asked, the woman turned "What does it look like, I'm setting the stage, Key Keeper, for your vanquishing. I'm one of the seven Shadow Riders" the woman stated "Uh oh" Jaden said, while Adam bared his teeth "A shadow rider? Aw man" Syrus said "You mean aw woman, Amazons are a race of all female warriors" Chumley stated "Whoa. You go girl" Alexis said "The name is Tanya, and now that the battleground has been established, it's time to battle. Now which of you big strong men will it be? After all, I would never harm a sister" Tanya stated "Hey, don't do me any favors" Alexis snapped, Camula rolled her eyes.
"So which one of you will step up? Who's my man?" Tanya asked "Right here!" Jaden yelled "Yours truly!" Chazz shouted "I'll take you!" Bastion stated "Nah, I gotta sit this one out, you wanna try your luck, Zed?" Adam asked "I'm good" Zed replied "Well if this is the best you have to offer, then I pick you" Tanya stated pointed at Bastion "Well, can't duel em all" Jaden said "What's your name?" Tanya asked "Bastion, Bastion Misawa" he stated "Alright pal, go and get her!" Jaden shouted "Kick her ass!" Adam yelled "Don't hold back!" Zed demanded "Alright, let's do this! The only question is, which deck to choose?" Bastion asked, pulling his coat open, revealing a vest of dueling decks.
