22. Distance

(This will be a little rollecoaster of emotions, don't kill me!)

"Bring me the whip."

Yukimura for a moment remained stiff. His blue eyes looke at Dan Heng, who was looking at him, trembling on the ground.

"Yes.. your Highness" Yukimura bowed, feeling his feet heavy as he walked out the door.

Dan Heng had no courage to look at Blade. He looked like another person and his own legs were already trembling in fear.

"I can't believe you two were making fun of my mercy since you stepped in my damn manor." Blade spoke out of madness and Dan Heng did bite his own lips, trying to gain back some courage.

But Blade had an awful aura, Dan Heng could feel the tension and the fear growing inside his body.

"He didn't want to become an eunuch! He wanted to have... a family once he would have regained freedom. His time with me made him understand it was good the Holy Order didn't have time to make the contract with him" he explained to then block as Blade crouched down, pointing the katana at him

"I haven't asked you to speak."

Yukimura entered in the room and bowed, handling the whip, making Dan Heng feel shivers all over his body.

"Make sure nobody, not even servants from the Emperor are in this area. Nobody has to know I am punishing the Imbibitor." he spoke coldly to Yukimura, who bowed

"Yes, your Highness" with that he left the room and Blade let the katana back to this cover to then swing the whip, locking his stare on Dan Heng, who felt his whole body trembling in fear.

"Oh? Now you don't speak anymore, aren't you? It seems you're now getting in your head that you must obey me." Blade's red eyes were literally dark. His desire was to see him begging and suffering. He felt like the two have been making fun of him since the start when he did accept many times Dan Heng's deals.

A fool.

He was a fool to soft his heart to Dan Heng. He did everything to protect Ryu since the start, he was sure.

Did he slowly get closer to him in order to protect Ryo? How much were the two really bonding behind his back.

"For how long were you planning to keep this? Oh? Wait, was this the real reason why you didn't want to bring him here?" he laughed as he kept swinging the whip, getting closer to Dan Heng "My brother, Haru Haru" he repeated to then lock his eyes on him "You're such an awful liar. You might look innocent and ethereal, but you're no different from all my enemies I have here"

Dan Heng did bite his own lips, getting sad, mad and scared at the same time "I was worried about Ryu because last time your brother killed him!" he exclaimed "I am not your enemy! I... I didn't know Ulrich would have made it such a big deal. Ryu has done nothing wrong" he opened up his eyes as Blade did swing the whip, making him hear the sound of the moved air from the strenght he was using it.

"Nothing wrong? A servant in a royal manor must follow the rules. You let him... be so close to you... You liked it, didn't you?" Blade laughed madly "And I thought you were innocent"

Dan Heng knew Blade was totally eaten by madness. He was feeling awfully stuck in a bad spot, his heart was aching "He's my friend, I just wanted to protect him I..."

"Shut up" Blade tilted his head with a serious stare "You won't fool me anymore. Now you're my toy, and you won't get away from the punishment."

Dan Heng looked at him scared at those words. He flinched as he saw the whip almost hitting his feet. He crawled back and Blade smirked, enjoying the fear in his eyes.
