37. Love at First Sight

I think I am writing asap this story chapters because I can't bear to leave angst for too long lmao

Uni session is starting soon so I really don't want to leave you with the angst :") <3

"Why am I getting all this?!" Dan Heng hissed as one of the maids brushed too hard his hair and the others were choosing the best kimono to wear.

Two days passed since the notice of the Emperor travelling in Blade's territory. Their arrival was planned for the morning of that day and of course the whole city was preparing

Ryu was guarding the room, feeling a bit sad he couldn't tease him anymore while dressing him up, but he was glad he was still around him.

The salary he was getting to be a shinobi was high enough to make his family travel away from the Holy Lands and soon reach Blade's territory. Ryu had nothing more to hope for his own happiness, but he was still worried about Dan Heng and the Prince himself.

"His Majesty and the Crown Prince are visiting, so you must look at the best to his soldiers and whoever came with him" Ryu spoke with an obvious tone as Dan Heng was rolling his eyes annoyed "Do you have any idea why they're here?"

Dan Heng looked at the maids who bowed and left them alone. Ryu could noticed Dan Heng's stare was pretty serious like he was actually asking the maids to get away. The shinobi came closer and helped him fixing the last layers of the kimono.

"Do you remember those soldiers chasing us?" Dan Heng looked at his own bracelet and Ryu nodded "They were... speaking of his Majesty" he did whisper "I really... don't feel this visit will be any good considering he tried to... kill Blade to get me... I guess?"

Ryu moved the hand closer to his mouth "Do not speak too loud. Even if the Prince is definitely on his knees for you, he might have a change of heart if you speak badly about the royal family" he muttered and Dan Heng laughed a little.

"No, Blade..." Dan Heng smiled a little "Blade is... different when we're alone" he said to then open up his eyes "Wait a moment... THAT BASTARD!" he shouted as he took some layers of his own kimono and walked fast in a goofy way out of the room with Ryu, who slapped his own forehead

"What... DAN HENG?"

"You made me realize that motherfucker didn't sleep with me in our chamber, where the fuck was he?!" he shouted, to then almost fall on the ground as he stepped on his own tail "Fuck you!"

Ryu rolled his eyes and helped him out with the garments. From a bit of distance it looked like the Imbibitor was shining with his beautiful cerimonial clothes, jewels adorning his long hair and tail. He looked like a God blessing whoever mortal with his presence.

But truly, Ryu was shouting at him to keep a check on his own garments and Dan Heng was literally moving his arms and insulting the Prince, making some shinobi, who were patrolling almost flinch at his sudden swearing.

"His Highness is with Yukimura, Toyo and the other shinobi on a mission!" he explained to then almost fall as Dan Heng turned towards him, slapping him with the tail, but luckily he dodged "Dan Heng, calm down!"

"What?! He's been on a mission?" he asked surprised and Ryu crossed his arms to then tickle his forehead

"Calm down, you know Blade is known to be basically the Master of Shinobi, don't you remember? He uses to go on a mission with his men" he did remind him "Don't you remember he was there at the kidnapping mission of yours?"

Dan Heng crossed his arms, feeling embarassed. Of course, he was the Prince but also a military general. That explained why he was absent from the manor, leaving Dan Heng with Ryu and the maids to prepare the manor.
