"I keep having this dream"

Dan Heng was playing the zither on a sunny day.

Finally they were back to Blade's territory and manor. The Prince and the Imbibitor were officially part of the Royal Family. Well, Dan Heng was. The two didn't wait any longer after their first night as married couple in the Emperor's palace to get away from all that.

Dan Heng and Blade were officially together with nothing that would threat their peace, for now.

The Prince was resting on his lap, making it hard to keep playing the zither, but Dan Heng was too used to that, he looked like he didn't mind at all. Ryu, Toyo and Yukimura were guarding the side of the room that would open towards the courtyard of the manor.

Truly they rarely were actually alone, but Dan Heng got used to it. Blade's long dark hair were strawn on the ground, his red eyes were closed, enjoying his favorite music played by his favorite one, his lover. He could swear that maybe they fought to be together for that secret heaven considering they've been experienced the real death in their... previous world.

"Dream...?" Blade opened his left eye just to smile like an idiot, somehow having still to realize the fact they were now married and they managed to get through everything to be together "If it's a dream I suppose my husband isn't feeling bad about it, right?" he asked as he was playing with a little strand of Dan Heng's hair

"You..." Dan Heng blushed a little as he could see Blade smirking under him "I don't know if it's a dream or maybe... something my powers can do" he muttered as he was playing "But after the marriage I somehow felt... like we always had a red thread around our little fingers... So I was wondering... If we were back to our world, would we still have it? I mean..." he sighed "Were we destined to be together there...?"

"Of course" Blade replied, making Dan Heng almost mess up the melody from the direct reply with such an obvious tone "Why are you even asking? I think that's the reason why we found each others again here." the Prince sighed and moved a little the zither away to have more space. He lifted himself up from Dan Heng's lap and wrapped the arm around his waist, pulling him to lay on his chest. He did nuzzle against his neck to move a little his kimono and kiss his shoulder, like he wanted him to relax "What's on your mind?"

Dan Heng couldn't help but bite his own lips and caress Blade's hands laying on his belly, giving him comfort to his overthinking "I can't believe we really got married. I can't believe I am with you... I am... scared sometimes." Dan Heng turned a little the head to look into Blade's eyes "You have died, and three months in our world were literally your whole new life here. Time is different here... Compared to you, I am in this world since so less... I just don't understand... I got here in the middle of chaos, what if..."

"And you brought peace." Blade cut him off, hugging him tight and kissing his cheek "You've been always... the one the others would see as someone who wouldn't care about anything for how antisocial you were back then... I do remember" he did giggle a little at those little fragments of memories "But whenever someone needed help you would give your heart, you would really do your best to see people around you being happy, safe... You're a good person, a good soul, Dan Heng. You always... brought solutions, peace in my mind and heart... Maybe... Maybe my wish to see you again brought you here but I won't ever say sorry" he closed his eyes "I am really glad you came once again in my life, take it as.... it's indeed our red thread, our destiny to find each others, no matter what"

Dan Heng turned a little, to then hug him and let Blade's arms hold him tight like he wanted to be hidden "Damn, my husband actually supports me more than that idiot who used to keep me in the dungeons"
