Fenir has always been the angel of the family. He would always work hard to help his mother in the house, he would take care of his sister and his little brother. He would never cry whenever he'd get hurt while playing with them. He'd always be there to cheer his family. He'd work hard, feeling part of the "knights" just like his father.
He was always smiling, everyone in the village would talk how Fenir's place was with the angels the Holy Order used to talk about. Many thought he was, despite the red eyes, just an angel sent by their god to bless their village.
But after all, his mother wasn't anything different. Fenir was the only one who took from her. When Fenir was always happy and doing his best to cheer everyone and help, Ayrin was a true devil and Theo was chaotic as hell.
That was probably why most of the villagers thought that Fenir was just a little angel when put next to his sister and little brother.
Fenir never showed jealously, madness, or even a little spark of evil thoughts. Even if his family wasn't living in the best situation, they were living, they were happy with few.
Fenir was a pure heart.
"Father... why is mother going to burn...?" the little child felt his whole body trembling and his mother hugged him tight. Even if she knew about her death sentence, she tried to show herself fearless. Her husband was the one who cought her and let her live some days of freedom before the sentence.
"Hush Fenir... If the priests saw the darkness in me, then I shall be purified..." she said, caressing his blonde hair as her husband was sat next to them, passing nervously the hand on his face.
The Holy Order in that time was trying to make their territory free from impurities. And the "Darkness' beasts" were the targets. The obsession of the High Priest of that time, thought that those beasts could "infect" even the pure souls, and so the crazy inquisition missions were soon carried out the Holy Knights.
"Elye... I..."
"Dear, don't you see our son is crying?" she smiled softly at her husband "I know, we can do nothing about it, we should just enjoy this day as a blessing for our family"
"I don't want you to go... mommy" Fenir clenched the fabric of her gown "It's not fair"
It wasn't fair.
Fenir was crying, because he was mad. He was dead scared but also mad.
