25. Goodnight Kiss

"RYUU" Dan Heng cried. He left Blade's hand as soon as he saw Ryu talking with Yukimura and Toyo.

The three turned towards Dan Heng who was running like a child, with the layers of the kimono moving around his body like they were floating.

"Dan Heng..." Blade looked at his own hand that, before, was held by the Imbibitor. He looked at him running happily towards Ryu "How..." he sighed as he couldn't help but notice such a shiny aura around him like his powers were just enhancing his figure.

Dan Heng, of course, fell on his tail and the three opened up their eyes when Eiji wrapped his arm around the waist to keep him still "Such a lively creature" he commented with a gentle smile as the Imbibitor was feeling embarassed

"Thank you your Highness" he muttered as he stand thanks to his help, to then walk embarassed towards Ryu and hug him happily

Blade sighed to then notice Eiji walking towards him

"It looks like... When the Imbibitor is truly happy, the sun and the moon gift him their blessing to remind us he's not from our mortal world" the Crown Prince almost sang close to his brother, who crossed his arms.

"You're quite gentle to him" Blade frowned his face and Eiji laughed a little.

"Who wouldn't... right, Blade?" he asked with a smirk and Blade tilted his head "You know... I wonder on what you're obessed more with... The Imbibitor or the title?" he asked and the Prince laughed a little

"I was obsessed with the Imbibitor in order to get the title." he explained with an obvious tone as he noticed Dan Heng holding Yukimura's arm worried. Probably Ryu was telling him about the fact he wouldn't be anymore his servant.

"Hm, you say so" Eiji's red eyes locked on Dan Heng "I like him" he said with a smile and Blade almost killed him with his stare "Let's say, I'd trade my title to take him to my manor once I give up the Throne, what would you say?"

Blade looked at Eiji who was looking at him with a serious stare like he wasn't playing at all.

"Why would you... trade your title for him. You just met him." Blade said and Eiji laughed a little

"I am a Prince, if I desire something I must get it right here right now" he said with an obvious tone "Do not act like you're not like this" he mocked him and Blade kept himself stiff "So, what would you say?"

"Stop speaking non-sense." Blade sighed as he wanted to walk and listen to Dan Heng talking lively with the three.

"Blade" Eiji's tone was low and actually seemed even evil "You know.... Being an Emperor might be not what you want."

Blade narrowed his stare "Don't try. It's been what I have been pursuing since I have memory" he grit his teeth "I must get my revenge over those concubines. I must kill them all."

Eiji sighed "Blade, their life is already miserable. The Emperor doesn't even visit them. They're in their little part of the palace and they never leave. They will die or kill themselves soon"

Blade didn't want to hear any excuse "Haru's mother must die. Only as an Emperor I can touch those concubines. I must... Avenge her."

"Do you know..." Eiji laid the hand on Blade's shoulder to capture his full attention. Those red eyes were fierce against the calm one of the oldest brother "Once you get the crown Prince title and the Emperor's throne... You won't be able to get back, and you will have to give your whole for the country, meaning also something you might not have yet in mind"

Blade rolled his eyes and shook off his hand "I have been learning and training for my whole life. Don't try to..."

"You must give a heir to the Empire... You will have to marry a woman who will be your Empress. Your concubines can be whoever, but the Empress must be a woman by your side"
