29. Wait for Me

"Move!" Yukimura shouted, pulling Dan Heng's wrist as he noticed some soldiers chasing after them.

"I had to stay! I had to heal him by myself!" Dan Heng cried out in panic, feeling his own legs trembling, but he knew he had to keep running.

Ryu gnashed his teeth once he looked behind, seeing the men almost reaching them "There was no time, Dan Heng, we were getting surrounded" he said, trying to protect him from the possible arrows. He didn't care. If he had to get wounded to protect him, then he would. When he heard Blade shouting at Dan Heng that they were there to bring him back to the Holy Lands, he knew Ulrich was behind all that, and he also knew he had a plan to keep Dan Heng there forever.

"What if..." Yukimura stopped Dan Heng to then look at Ryu "What are you doing?!" the Imbibitor shouted as the shinobi drew his katana to then grab Ryu's arm to pull him and push him towards Dan Heng

"I will keep them busy, you run. Ryu, guide the Imbibitor in the first village and keep him safe. I am sure his Highness will come back to get you once we're done with the enemies, but right now you have to get away from here, understood?!" Yukimura's eyes were fierce, positioning himself in a defensive stance, waiting for the soldiers to approach him.

Dan Heng felt his heart pounding "ARE YOU KIDDING ME? BRO, THIS IS THE FIRST HORROR RULE, DO NOT SEPARATE, FUCK FUCK FUCK!" he exclaimed to then get pulled by Ryu "WE WILL ALL DIE"

Ryu rolled his eyes and ran with him. Dan Heng left a glance behind, seeing Yukimura fighting against the soldiers, throwing also some daggers towards the ones who were trying to move past him and chase the Imbibitor. He was one of Blade's best shinobi, but still Dan Heng felt awful as he was just the reason why he put so many people in danger.

Dan Heng and Ryu ran through the forest. The two were holding their hands strongly like they both were scared and not willing to separate. Dan Heng was scared to death to be alone.

As they were running Dan Heng's eyes locked on the forest around them that was slowly changing "Uhm... Ryu? Did you put something in my tea?" he asked as he did pant

"Do you think it's time to joke, Dan Heng? We're running away from soldiers who want you and probably they will KILL ME" he exclaimed in panic and Dan Heng rolled his eyes

"I am serious! Bro I see the Forest MOVING!" he exclaimed and Ryu in that moment rolled his eyes and stopped, to turn and look at Dan Heng, who pointed at the trees' branches weirdly moving "DO YOU SEE IT TOO?!"

"What in the..." Ryu opened up his eyes as he noticed four soldiers aiming at them

"THERE THEY ARE!" the soldier shouted and Ryu pulled Dan Heng, who felt just more in panic.

Ryu ended up falling on a branch that moved on the ground and Dan Heng felt his blood almost freezing in his veins when he noticed the soldiers approaching them.

"GO!" Ryu shouted and Dan Heng did tremble, seeing his friend on the ground to then grit his teeth once his shoulder was pierced by an arrow

"RYU!" Dan Heng crouched down as Ryu was panting "Fuck, fuck, I am so sorry, I am really sorry, let me heal you!" he did tremble but the man shook his hand

"Dan Heng" Ryu did pant as his hand laid on his cheeks "Listen, someone in Blade's manor has surely... spied on us... I don't trust anyone but Yukimura, Toyo and... his Highness" he said to then groan in pain "Stay away from any soldier, do not... let them see you, do not trust even the shinobi, you must stay hidden, okay?!"

"This is not the time" Dan Heng tried to pull him, feeling his heart totally in panic but Ryu pushed him away

"Go without me, stay safe, do not let ANYONE. Royals or Priests get you, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!" he shouted and Dan Heng did bite his lips "Run, NOW! If they catch you, you will be forever a prisoner, I don't..." Ryu closed his hands into fists "I don't want you to end up like that, please."
