Finally!
You thought as you finished the last email of the day. You glanced at the clock on the wall. 8:47 p.m. You got up from your office desk and stretched your back. You packed up your things to finally go home.
Today, work has been tiring and way too long. Checking the app on your phone, you noticed that the next bus would arrive in 10 minutes. Picking up your pace, you walked out of the building and down the road to reach the bus stop.
After waiting for a bit, the bus arrived, and you got on. It was completely empty. No wonder, most people are already home.
I can't wait to get home! I am so hungry. Today was so busy that I couldn't even get a proper lunch.
You leaned your head against the window and watched the illuminated city.
At the next bus stop, a man got on. He was wearing a black cote and a beanie. Pieces of dyed hair were sticking out. He was wearing a mask, so you couldn't see a lot of his face as he passed you to take a seat in the row behind you. Something about this man seemed oddly familiar, but you were too tired to figure out who he was.We probably don't know each other, otherwise, he would have greeted me when he passed me.
You unlocked your phone to scroll through your socials hoping for the ride to be over quickly, so you could finally get something to eat. Your stomach was already making loud noises. The bus was slowing down before it came to a stop. You looked up from your phone only to see an ocean of red break lights in front of you.
Why is there so much traffic at this time? Aren't people supposed to be home already?
You groaned as you got up from your seat to walk to the front to get a better look. The bus driver let out a deep sigh as you stopped next to him. Looking at him, you noticed that he was just as tired as you were.
"Looks like an accident happened." He said while pointing at the blinking blue lights in the distance.
"How long do you reckon the road will be blocked?" you asked.
"That's difficult to tell. Depends how big the accident was. It's not possible to see from here."
"Would it be possible to take a different route?"
"Unfortunately, I am not allowed to do that. We have to wait until the police opens the road again or until they direct us to a different route. I'm sorry," he smiled apologetically.
"Alright. Thanks anyway." You smiled back at him before making your way back to your seat.
The man sitting behind you lowered his head when he saw you coming back.
Looks like he is hiding.
You thought while sitting back down. Your stomach was now loudly demanding food. But you had nothing with you to eat.
Oh, well. This is going to be a long ride home after an already long day.
Suddenly, a phone behind you started ringing.
"Yes, hyung? No, I am stuck in traffic on the bus. I know I should have walked home instead of taking the bus, but I was so tired. Yes. I'll let you know. See you later. Bye."
You froze. You would recognize this deep and soothing voice everywhere. Now it suddenly hit you: the man seemed so familiar because you did indeed know him. But he didn't know you. Sitting behind you was none other than THE Felix of Stray Kids.
This is why he was trying to hide his face earlier! What do I do? Do I try to talk to him? No! He said he was tired on the phone. The poor guy probably wants to rest. I shouldn't bother him.
Your rambling thoughts were interrupted by a gentle tap on your shoulder. You shot around, eyes wide.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
The deep voice said while a pair of warm brown eyes looked at you. He was holding up a bag of cookies.
"It sounds like you are hungry. Want some?" he asked.
How embarrassing!
Your bias had heard you stomach throw a tantrum. You felt the heat rush to your cheeks.
"Th-thank you." You stuttered, unable to say anything else.
This has to be a dream. This can't be real!
Your thoughts started racing again. You were convinced you would wake up every second as you watched Felix open the package and take out a cookie before handing it to you. You slowly, with shaking hands, took it. As the sweet taste started spreading in your mouth, you realized that you were not dreaming. Felix chuckled while handing you a second cookie.
"Would you mind telling me your name? I think it's a bit unfair that you know mine, but I don't know yours." He winked.
You almost chocked on the last bite.
"H-how do you...?"
"I got a glimpse of your phone wallpaper earlier."
You felt another wave of heat rolling over your face as you thought of the picture of him on your wallpaper.
How embarrassing!
Wishing for the ground to open and swallow you, you lowered your eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to embarrass you. I appreciate it when STAYs are showing us off. Makes me feel proud."
You looked back up at him and smiled a little. He handed you another cookie, but before you could take it, he pulled his hand back again.
"I would still like to know your name." he teased.
"Y-y/n."
"Nice to meet you y/n" Felix said while handing you the cookie again.
"Tell me a little bit about you. Do you work? How long have you been a STAY?"
Slowly but surely, the conversation started flowing naturally. It was an incredible feeling being able to talk to your bias in such a natural setting.
Stuff like this only ever happens in fanfictions.
Time was flying until you noticed that the bus had started moving again. Soon it would reach your stop. Feeling a little sad, that your chat with Felix came to an end, you thanked him for the nice conversation and for all the cookies. You had eaten most of the package.
"It was a pleasure meeting you y/n. What are the odds, that I would be stuck with one of the nicest STAYs in the biggest traffic jam I have ever been in." he smiled warmly at you.
After saying your goodbyes, you got off the bus and watched it drive away into the night.
It's funny how life works sometimes, isn't it?
You thought before making your way home.
