"This is a very important project for our company. We must impress this new client in order to secure future projects from them." Your boss explained with a serious face.

"Therefore, I put together a team that I'm sure will do an excellent job.Y/n and Jeongin will be responsible for this project." He announced.

You froze.

Jeongin and I in one team? He can't be serious!

You looked at Jeongin, who was already looking at you. But he looked away quickly.

"Don't mess this up!" Your boss said and walked out of the meeting room.

It was the first time Jeongin and you were paired up for a project, and you could already feel the weight of responsibility settling into your bones.

Jeongin and you were always competing on who got the new projects or who got better results on their work. Of course, there was no real competition going on in your company. Officially, at least. This all started when your co-workers started to compare the two of you. How you handle your work, how much the clients love you, and how professionally you deliver your presentations. It started as an inside joke but somehow became serious very quickly.

As you sat across from him in the cramped meeting room, you couldn't help but wonder if he felt the sameas you did. His fingers drummed against the table, his dark hair falling over his forehead, and his eyes darted back and forth between his notes and the screen of his laptop. He exhaled audibly, catching your attention.

"I hope we can work well together on this," he muttered under his breath.

"Of course we will," you replied.

As the meeting came to a close, your supervisor handed each a thick binder full of information and instructions.

"You two have until the end of the week to present your findings," she said, her voice grave. "Don't disappoint me."

With a final nod, she left the room, leaving Jeongin and you alone together.

You cleared your throat, trying to break the awkward silence.

"So... uh, do you have any ideas on how we should approach this?" you asked, gesturing to the binders in your hands.

He shook his head, setting his binder down on the table.

"Not really," he said. "I was hoping you'd have some ideas, since you seem to be the more experienced one in this situation."

You felt a blush creep on your cheeks at his words, but you tried not to let it show.

"Well, I was thinking..." you began, and then trailed off, unsure of yourself.

He smiled, a small but genuine smile that made his eyes crinkle at the corners.

"It's okay, I'm sure we'll figure it out together."

His confidence put you at ease, and you spent the rest of the afternoon brainstorming ideas and outlining your strategy. As the day wore on, you grew more comfortable with each other, laughing at inside jokes and sharing stories about your lives outside of work.

You began to realize that perhaps your initial impression of him had been wrong. Maybe he wasn't the arrogant know-it-all you had initially thought he was. As you worked together, you found yourself looking forward to spending more time with him, both in and out of the office.

Your progress on the project was steady, with Jeongin's unique insights and your organizational skills combining to create a perfect team. You stayed late most nights, pouring over data and brainstorming new ideas.

It was during one of these late-night sessions that Jeongin confessed something.

"You know, I was really nervous about working with you when we first met," he admitted, taking a sip of his coffee. "You seemed so... intimidating, you know? Like you had everything figured out."

You couldn't help but laugh at this.

"I was just trying to keep up the appearance," you told him. "I was just as nervous as you were."

He looked surprised by this, and a small smile forming on his lips. "Really?"

"Really. I think we make a really good team, you know. Your ideas and my organization... it's perfect."

There was a moment of silence as you both contemplated this newfound understanding. Then, he leaned back in his chair and sighed contentedly.

"Yeah, you're right. I think we're doing really well together."

As the week came to a close, your presentation took shape, and you confidence grew. You spent hours practicing and making sure every detail was perfect. When the big day finally arrived, your presentation was flawless.

Your supervisor, who had been so skeptical of our pairing at first, was visibly impressed.

"This is absolutely incredible," she said. "I don't think I've ever seen a more well-executed presentation in all my years here. You two have done an amazing job."

As you both left the conference room, a wave of euphoria swept over you, and you were grinning like a fool. Jeongin glanced at you out of the corner of his eye and raised an eyebrow.

"What's gotten into you?" he asked with a smirk.

"I'm just so happy we pulled this off!"

He laughed.

"Yeah, me too. How about we celebrate our successful presentation. Dinner is on me today."

"Great! I'm actually hungry."

"You are always hungry!" he said while his eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Hey! That is not true!" you protested, but couldn't help but laugh at his statement, while he dragged you out of the company building.
