The air was icy, leaving a tingling feeling on your skin as you went outside on your balcony, admiring the blanket of snow that had engulfed the neighborhood overnight. Turning your head lightly, you spotted your neighbor, Chan. He was building snowmen in his backyard. You couldn't help but laugh as you watched him. He seemed to be having quite the adventure out there, laughing and throwing snowballs as if he was a kid again. It looked like so much fun that you decided to join him.

You quickly put on your thickest coat, hat and gloves. You crunched down to quickly make a few snowballs and put them into the bucket standing outside. The snow crunched beneath your boots as you sneaked across the yard, making your way towards the border between the two properties. You paused for a moment, catching your breath as you took in the sight of your neighbor, now admiring all the snowmen that looked like they had been stolen from the pages of a children's book. His grin was infectious, his cheeks rosy from the cold.

Without further ado, you launched your first snowball, aiming straight for his back. He spun around, a look of surprise on his face. Then a huge grin spread across his face.

"Well, good morning to you too y/n!"

He laughed before quickly grabbing a bit of snow, twisting it in his hands, and throwing one back at you. You squealed while you ducked another one flying your way. You continued like this for several minutes, your and his laughter echoing through the stillness of the winter morning. Soon, your snowball fight had escalated into a full-blown battle, with snowballs flying through the air faster than you could count. You ducked behind a snowman, taking shelter from one of his particularly well-aimed pitches, before charging out from behind it and launching a counterattack. Chan laughed and put up his hands in defeat as the snowball hit his chest.

"Alright, I give up you won!" he yelled.

You smiled, slowly making your way back over to him.

"This was so much fun. Reminded me of when we were five years old and used to have snowball fights after school."

"Right! Those times were so precious. Makes me feel nostalgic."

Chan paused for a moment before speaking again: "It's freezing out here! Come on, let's get inside and warm up with some hot chocolate."

"That sounds really good right now."

He smiled and led you back to his house. As you trudged through the snow, you couldn't help but notice the snow sculptures in his front yard. There was a snowman family, complete with a snowdog and even a snowcat. The level of detail was astonishing, and it was clear that he had put a lot of time and effort into creating them.

"How long have you been awake to make all of them?"

"I don't know. When I saw that it had snowed this morning, I immediately went outside. I just couldn't resist. Now that I think of it, I didn't even have breakfast."

You just shook your head and laughed. When you finally reached the door, the warmth inside enveloped you two like a cozy blanket. Chan went straight into the kitchen to prepare the hot chocolate. After a while the scent of cinnamon and chocolate filled the air, and you immediately felt your frozen limbs begin to thaw.

After pouring two cups, he pointed to the couch in the living room. Taking the cups from him, you sat them down on the couch table. He set down a plate filled with brownies.

"My friend made them yesterday. Try one they are delicious."

He didn't have to repeat that twice. You took a big bite, and your eyes widened. They practically melted in your mouth.

"Hmmm! The really are delicious."

Your voice muffled because of your stuffed mouth.

"It's a new recipe he tried, made with dark chocolate and a hint of cinnamon."

"Oh wow. Do you think you could ask him for the recipe?"

Chan nodded before an idea plopped into his head.

"You could actually ask him yourself. I'm having a party on Saturday, and he will be there. If you want, you can come too."

"Sure! I'd love to come."

You smiled at Chan before the two of you continued to enjoy the hot chocolate and brownies.
