It was one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong. You woke up on the wrong side of the bed, spilled coffee on your favorite shirt, and accidentally set off the fire alarm at the office. You were so done with this day.
By the time you finally made it out the office, you were ready to crawl into bed and forget about the world.
But as you stepped outside, you couldn't help but notice the unmistakable figure standing at the foot of the stairs. Your boyfriend, Hyunjin.
What is he doing here? He said he was busy with work today... Why is he here waiting for me?
After a bad day his presence filled you with a mixture of surprise and comfort. As you walked towards him, you could already feel the tension that had build up over the whole day, leave your shoulders. The first thing Hyunjin did was engulf you into a big hug. Then he took your hand in his and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
"You look like you've had a rough day," he said gently. "What happened?"
You hesitated for a moment, not sure if you should tell him everything that had gone wrong. You wanted to forget about this horrible day. But there was something about the way he was looking at you, the way he seemed to understand without you having to say a word, that made you feel like you could tell him. So you took a deep breath and began to recount the day's events. As you spoke, you couldn't help but feel more relief washing over you. It was as if telling him about it made it all seem less overwhelming.
When you finished, Hyunjin gave you a sympathetic smile.
"It's not that bad," he assured you. "Things like this happen to everyone sometimes. You're stronger than you think."
He placed a hand on your cheek and leaned in to kiss you softly. The warmth of his lips against yours made you feel better almost instantly.
"Come on, let's go home. We can order takeout and watch a movie or something. You deserve a break."
"But aren't you busy? Yesterday you said you won't get home until very late."
"There was a change of schedule, so I have the evening off." he replied softly while wrapping an arm around your shoulder and guiding you towards the parking lot.
As you walked to his car, you couldn't help but feel grateful for Hyunjin's presence. When you reached the car, he opened the door for you and helped you in, making sure you were comfortable before getting behind the wheel. As he started the engine and drove away, you leaned back against the seat, taking in the familiar smell of his cologne and the soft music playing on the radio.
The drive home was relaxing and felt like a much-needed escape from the stresses of the day. You stopped at your favorite restaurant to pick up something delicious to eat. After Hyunjin pulled up to your apartment, he hopped out of the car and came around to open your door for you once again. He took your hand in his and led you up to their door, his touch sending waves of warmth and comfort through you.
As soon as you stepped inside, the familiar scent of home enveloped you, making the last bit of stress leave your body. You went straight to the kitchen, where you started unpacking the food.
"Sit," he said, gesturing to the couch. "I'll get the movie started."
As you sat down, you couldn't help but marvel at the way he took care of you. It was as if he had a sixth sense for when you needed him the most. You watched as he was browsing through his collection of movies until he found one that seemed to catch his eye. He turned to face you, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"How do you feel about some sci-fi?" he asked with a grin.
You shrugged, already feeling more relaxed than you had all day.
"Sure, why not?"
You reached for your chopsticks and began to dig into the delicious takeout. After finishing your food Hyunjin wrapped his arms around you, while you snuggled into his chest. Feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat made you sleepy and soon enough you drifted of into dreamland, the miserable day long forgotten.
