The sky was painted in hues of pink and orange, as if the heavens themselves were bleeding into the horizon. You stood in the castles garden, watching as the last vestiges of light disappeared from the world, replaced by an endless ocean of stars. It was a breathtaking sight, one that you had seen countless times before. But tonight, the air felt different. It was thick with anticipation, with the knowledge that tomorrow would change everything.

Tomorrow, you would marry Prince Felix. It had been decided the moment your father, the king, took his last breath. As the eldest daughter, it was tradition that you would marry the second son of a neighborly kingdom. It had to be someone, who would be able to lead the kingdom, someone who would carry on the legacy of your family. Usually there was a huge ball where you would decide between the different princes, but since there was currently only one prince at the age to marry, your fate was sealed.

As you stared up at the night sky, you couldn't help but feel a pang of fear. You had heard the rumors about Prince Felix. They called him cruel, heartless. A monster who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. But were the rumors true?

Suddenly, you heard footsteps approaching from behind. Your heart skipped a beat as you turned around to face the prince. He stood there, in his finest attire, his piercing brown eyes gazing at you with a mixture of curiosity and something else you couldn't quite put your finger on.

"Your Highness," he said, inclining his head in a slight bow.

His voice was smooth and deep, like honey. You felt yourself blushing, unable to tear your eyes away from him.

"It's a lovely night, isn't it?"

You nodded, still unable to speak. He took a step closer, and you could feel the heat emanating from his body.

"I hope you don't mind me intruding on your solitude," he continued, "but I thought it might be nice to have some company tonight."

His words snapped you out of your daze. You forced a small smile.

"Of course, Prince Felix. It's lovely to have your company."

He gestured towards a small bench nearby, and you took a seat, trying to calm the butterflies in your stomach. He sat down beside you, his shoulder brushing against yours, and you couldn't help but notice the way his presence seemed to fill the space around you.

"I hope I haven't given you any reason to be nervous," he said, his voice gentle and sincere. "I assure you, I have only the best intentions."

You took a deep breath and looked over at him, trying to gauge if he was telling the truth. His face was partially hidden in the shadows, but you could make out his features well enough. You noticed the constellation of freckles on his nose and cheeks. There was a kindness in his eyes that you had never seen before, a softness that belied the stories you'd heard about him. For a moment, you almost believed him.

"It's not that I'm nervous, exactly," you said, trying to find the right words. "It's just... different, you know? I've heard so many things about you, and now I'm supposed to marry you tomorrow, and I don't want to make a mistake."

He chuckled softly, the sound surprisingly gentle. He reached out to pat your hand.

"You don't have anything to worry about. I understand why you might be hesitant, but I can assure you again that I only have the best intentions for our kingdom and for you."

His touch sent a shiver down your spine, and you could feel yourself relaxing under his gaze.

"I promise," he continued, "that I will always treat you with respect and kindness. You are not just my wife, but my partner, and I want us to have a marriage built on trust and understanding."

You believed him. There was something about Prince Felix that made you feel safe, protected. Perhaps it was the way he looked at you, as if you were the most important person in the world. Or maybe it was the way he spoke, with such conviction and sincerity. Whatever it was, you couldn't deny the sense of calm that washed over you in his presence.

The two of you sat in silence for a while, simply enjoying the beauty of the night sky. The stars twinkled above, casting their ethereal glow over the gardens. It felt as if time had stopped, as if nothing else mattered but the both of you and the moment you were sharing.

Finally, Prince Felix broke the silence.

"I hope you don't mind my asking, but what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?" he inquired, his voice quiet and thoughtful. "Do you have any hobbies or interests that I should know about?"

You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through your chest.

"Well, Your Highness, I do enjoy reading quite a bit. I find that books take me to places I've never been, and introduce me to people and worlds that I could only dream of." you paused for a moment, considering your next words. "I also like to paint. Sometimes, when I'm feeling overwhelmed or anxious, I'll retreat to my room and lose myself in a painting. It's very calming, and helps me to see things in a new light."

Prince Felix's eyes lit up at this, and he leaned in closer.

"I'm glad to hear that. You see, I've always loved reading as well. It's such an escape from the daily stresses of ruling a kingdom. And I've always found painting to be quite therapeutic as well." He chuckled softly. "When I was younger, my father used to tell me that I had the brushwork of a master. Of course, I'm sure he was just being kind, but it's always been a passion of mine."

He paused for a moment, looking out over the garden, his thoughts seemingly far away.

"Perhaps once we are married," he continued, "we could find a room in the palace where we could each have our own private space for reading and painting. A sanctuary of sorts, where we could retreat when we need some time to ourselves."

His words made you smile, and you found yourself nodding in agreement. It would be wonderful to have a space like that, a place where you could both pursue your passions and find solace from the demands of your new life together.

"That sounds lovely," you said, your voice soft with anticipation. "I think it would be a wonderful way for us to bond as well."

The night continued to unfold, with Prince Felix and you talking well into the evening. You shared stories about your childhoods, your families, and your dreams for the future.

As the moon rose higher in the sky, casting its silvery light across the gardens, you began to talk about the challenges that lay ahead for you as king and queen. You were struck by the way he listened to you, truly hearing your thoughts and ideas, and how he never once made you feel inferior or unimportant.

As you sat there, lost in conversation, you realized something: No matter what the future held, Prince Felix would stand right by your side. There was a strength in him that was both inspiring and reassuring. He was not just a prince, but a leader, and you felt honored to stand by his side.
