Padme's POV:
"I need a med droid in here, now." My voice is sharper than I intend as I speak into my comlink, but I don't take my eyes off Y/N's still form. My heart is hammering. "Ahsoka, call Anakin."
I press two fingers to Y/N's neck. Her pulse is steady. Her chest rises and falls. She's breathing—thank the stars—but her skin is damp, clammy. Just another fainting spell, I tell myself. They've become too common in her pregnancy.
"I already tried—he's not answering." Ahsoka's voice trembles. Her eyes are wide, locked on Y/N like she's afraid to blink.
"Try again." I press a cool cloth to Y/N's forehead, willing her to stir.
Ahsoka shakes her head. "Still nothing."
"How could he not answer right now?" My voice breaks. "He knows you're with Y/N!"
"Then call Obi-Wan. Maybe he knows where Anakin is."
Y/N stirs faintly, her lips moving. She fights to open her eyes, whispering through shallow breaths.
"Anakin..." Her voice is so small, fragile. "Anakin..."
"He answered," Ahsoka says suddenly.
"Give it to me." I extend a shaking hand. She sets the comlink on speaker.
"Obi-Wan, it's Padmé," I say quickly. "Are you with Anakin?"
"Anakin and I parted ways this morning at the hangar. I've just finished my mission on Utapau. Why? Is something wrong?" His voice is steady, but I hear the faintest note of alarm.
"Y/N fainted. We can't reach him."
"I'll try him right away," Obi-Wan replies. "How is she now?"
"She's coming around. The droids say she'll be alright." Relief washes over me as I see Y/N's lashes flutter.
"Still no answer," Obi-Wan says after a pause. His voice is lower now, troubled.
Suddenly, Ahsoka winces, pressing her fingers to her temple.
"Ahsoka?" I ask sharply. "What's wrong?"
"I just—" she falters, disoriented. "Master, do you feel—"
"A disturbance in the Force," Obi-Wan finishes grimly. "Yes. Something is happening."
I glance between them, dread tightening my chest. "Do you think Anakin's in danger?"
Obi-Wan exhales slowly. "I don't know."
Then Y/N jolts awake, gasping. She rips off the oxygen mask, coughing.
"Y/N!" I lean over her. "Stay still."
"Obi-Wan?" she croaks weakly into the comlink.
"I'm here. Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." She shakes her head, breath ragged. "But Anakin—something's happened to Anakin."
Before we can ask, a piercing alarm blares from all of our comlinks at once. The shrill siren forces me to cover my ears.
"What now?" I shout over the sound.
Ahsoka stares at her screen, face draining of color. "It's... it's an emergency order. Master, it says the Jedi are under attack. It says we need to take shelter."
Obi-Wan's face hardens, grave and pale. "Ahsoka—get Padmé and Y/N somewhere safe."
"What about you?" Ahsoka presses.
"I'm going to find Anakin." He's already setting new coordinates in his ship, hands moving fast.
"I should come with you—"
