"Amy?" Kaitlyn questions through her phone when no one speaks,
"Oh Gosh. KAITY!" Amy screeches from the other side, for some reason Kaitlyn felt warm inside hearing her best friend call after her,
"Is that Kaitlyn? Give me the phone" She could hear her father pulling the phone to himself, "Kaitlyn? Hija?" he questioned into the phone,
"Papi" she says with such adoration Antonio felt happy to hear his daughter. Things turned extremely formal after the funeral, even when he called his daughter; she wouldn't speak with the love and warmth like she used to, but hearing her now, sounded just like his Kaitlyn.
"Hija! You're alive" he breathed out in relief, "Hija where are you? Tell me I'll come get you" Panicking Antonio got his men to prepare to locate her, but Kaitlyn was smart, she was using a non-trackable phone, and she knew her father all too well.
"Don't bother tracking me, Papi. I'm blocking myself. And please don't kill those innocent people because they couldn't find me" she sweetly says with a hint of humour making Ricardo chuckle from a distance,
"Too late for that" Ricardo silently answers more to himself but Kaitlyn hears him and she sighed out in disagreement,
"I'm really worried for you Hija. Please. Just come home. We'll clear whatever mess that's been made" Antonio's voice grew softer as he pleaded for the arrival of his daughter,
"It's why I called you" Kaitlyn resisted not knowing how she was going to tell her father, she couldn't tell the whole truth to him but she knew her father was a smart cookie, and he'd figure it out eventually, especially with the hint she'd left back in England. "I was attacked after the dinner. Me and Emily both. I was shot and Emily had a broken rib. But we're both doing alright nothing severe"
"DEAR GOD! Hija tell me now where you are or I will bend this fucking world the other way to find you" he cursed threateningly,
"Papi calm down. I didn't tell you the full story. Just bear with me" No sound came and Kaitlyn continued her explanation "We would've died that night if it weren't for Riase's father. He took me to a hospital and I'm doing much better since then" Kaitlyn heard the gasp that came from Amy, Kaitlyn inwardly cursed and prayed she wouldn't spill anything to her father,
"Did he now?" Antonio passed a death glare to Amy and he knew that Amy's keeping something from him, his voice became much lower and went to the rough, sore voice he used when he wanted to intimidate someone, "Is he there now?"
Kaitlyn looked at Ricardo and kept her finger on her lips making him sit back in his chair,
"It's only me papi" she lied "I need to clear things with him, and I've decided to stay back for some time. Amy knows how to run Vogel better than I can. I want you to hold on to the mafia for me if you can. I promise I won't be gone for years like before. I will come soon" a promise made Kaitlyn awaited her dad's approval and kept the phone down,
"Telling Uncle Tio was a wise choice" Ricardo breaks the silence in the room, "Do you ever plan to tell him the truth?" Ricardo felt restraint in Kaitlyn before she answered a short,
"Maybe..." her answer dragged, "but not yet. If he's smart he'll already know I'm with you. That is if he plans to pay his wife and grandson a visit"
"Alright"
"Thank you" Kaitlyn looks at him slightly sheepishly,
"For what?" he raised a brow,
"For everything. The Saving, moving into a separate place for me, I know it must've taken a lot of trouble" Her words make Ricardo feel he did a good job preparing all this.
