Slowly the voices started to go down and rejoice when they saw the dining hall covered with a side of English breakfast, another with a traditional Italian breakfast and finishing it off with a few dishes covered but inside were Mexico's finest cooked by the chefs Antonio brought down all the way from Mexico.
"Dad, there is a lot of food" Daniel says and Kaitlyn looks at Alex for a while,
"Kids can be picky. I made sure everything is to our liking" Antonio stands at the head of the table and proudly announces,
"Alex, why doesn't he call you..."
"Since he was young he's been calling me dad remember? 'A' made him say it" Alex replies rolling his eyes. Whenever the family had to talk about Alia, she was referred to as 'A' because if Daniel heard her name he would begin his endless questions about Alia, and once it became a problem for Alex. He would always get frustrated when Daniel started about Alia, resulting in an outburst no one could control and such drama would continue for the next 3 days. And if Amy wasn't around little Daniel is off to fend for himself alone in a mansion with guards and maids.
Patience wasn't one of Alex's strengths. It was his weakest. The little thing would set him off and raising a son amidst a mafia alone was hard. It was what made him fall for Amy so hard because whenever she was in Mexico with him, she'd always look after Daniel so well he didn't even notice his busy father. And when Alex came home exhausted she was home with a fresh heated meal and a story to make his day a bit better.
He felt a difference when Amy wasn't in his life. Alia was barely anything compared to Amy. She _Amy_ was everything and he intended to keep her. Everyone sat down with a plate filled with an unlimited variety of foods. Amy glanced around the table smiling to be surrounded by family. She looked opposite Antonio's head and oddly stared wondering why the maids were preparing 2 more places on the table.
Before she could ask Alex got the signal he was waiting for and rose with a glass, "To our Christmas breakfast spent with family" he raised his glass passing a smile to everyone seated,
"To our family" Kaitlyn says with everyone,
"Cheers" the little children hold their juices together and scream playfully.
"And to new family" he raises his glass to the large timber doors which open on his command and Amy's parents walk in amazed by the decor and how big the mansion is.
"MAMAH, PAPA" Amy shouts covering her mouth, "no way this is real" she says frozen in her seat, Alex sweetly kisses her forehead and takes the glass of wine raising her to her feet.
"Why don't you go and say hi?" she nods her head vigorously and backs away, she nearly stumbles when the man behind her chair pulls it for her and she smiles and nervously runs up to her parents like a 2-year-old.
"Joyeux Noël, ma chérie" _Merry Christmas, my darling_ Amy's mom kisses her cheek and hugs her, her father looks at the crowd ahead and joyfully announces,
"Joyeux Noël à toute la famille!" _Merry Christmas to the whole family_ Kaitlyn gets up and goes to hug the family who've always treated her like their own.
"I can't believe you're ACTUALLY here!" Amy says with tears of joy, "Thank you! Thank you!" She hugs Alex again.
"Welcome! Antonio Garcia"
"Michel Dupont. This is my wife, Claudia" he introduced bringing Claudia next to him,
"A beautiful home you have and thank you for inviting us, Mr. Garcia" Claudia comments in excitement while shaking his hands,
"Please, the pleasure is all mine and call me Antonio. Amy's family is our family" he smiles chuckling,
"Oh, she's told us endless stories about your family, how homely she feels here. We can see why she doesn't visit us so often" Michel taps Amy's back smiling,
