When Kaitlyn got home she didn't immediately run to Ricardo and share the joyful news. She planned to gift it to him. Which was hard because when she saw him enter the house after work she couldn't help the bright smile just thinking of it.
"What's got you smiling so hard?" Ricardo asks hugging his wife and pecking her lips gently,
"Nothing. I'm just glad you're home. The sooner we pack the sooner we can leave" she says and hugs him a bit longer letting his scent linger around her,
"PAPI!!!" The little one screams from the corridor hearing his father's voice. Kaitlyn's eyes widened and she hurriedly removed herself from him to give way for the little one to tackle his father. And successfully Ricardo lifted the little one up in the air and cuddled him right after.
"And what did you do today?"
"We wrote Santa letter. Elf come and give Santa"
"How did you write?" Ricardo asked, completely bewildered that his two-and-a-half-year-old son could write.
"I told teacher" he joyfully said,
"Ah... I see" Ricardo smiled and when the little one wiggled his legs he kept him down to run back to what he was doing, "were you at the hospital today?" Kaitlyn had turned to get something to drink for the both of them and froze in her steps, quickly as possible she remembered her cover-up story,
"I had to take Alessio for his general check-up. And I didn't want to cause a commotion or draw too much attention, so I had the men stay outside..." She says but in reality, it was so that his men wouldn't find out that she had an appointment herself and Alessio was in the children's play centre. If they had known, they'd immediately called Ricardo, and he'd rushed to the hospital in search of her.
"Is everything alright?" His voice went stern and serious,
"No, no" she waved her hands trying to convince him more, "He's a healthy 2-year-old" she smiled and started returning to her original task.

"Ready?" Kaitlyn asks strapping Alessio into the seat next to her,
"Weady Mwama" he says filled with excitement looking out the window in anticipation.
As the plane begins its takeoff, Alessio is bursting with excitement. His wide eyes are glued to the window, and his tiny hands grip the armrest as the engines roar to life. His laughter is full of happiness. Ricardo smiles, glancing over at Kaitlyn, who squeezes Alessio's hand. The jet accelerates down the runway, and as the wheels lift off the tarmac, Alessio's face lights up with pure joy, his eyes growing even wider as the ground starts to shrink beneath them.
"Up, up. Look mama, look!" He exclaims, pointing at the clouds.
Kaitlyn laughs softly and kisses his forehead, saying, "Yes, Ali, we're in the clouds!" Alessio can hardly sit still, bouncing in his seat with excitement, as Ricardo chuckles at his son's boundless energy.
Once they are on levelled airspace Ricardo reclines in the deep leather seat, his attention focused on a sleek tablet displaying the work pile which he can do online. The soft hum of the jet's engines is barely audible, and he occasionally glances out of the window at the picturesque view of Europe below.
Kaitlyn shared a cup of apple juice with Alessio, started to doze off and took out her phone to read the stock markets in England, her legs elegantly crossed in the spacious seat beside a tray of gourmet snacks. Every now and then, she glances at Ricardo with a soft smile, as they share an easy, comfortable conversation about different topics.
