Katsuki stood on the stage, looking over the rest of the first years in anger, as though he were a wrathful king about to draft his subjects to war. He placed first in the entrance exam, so of course, as the supposed strongest, he had to give a speech.
Any sane student would say something nice and encouraging. You weren't expecting anything nice from him, but what he said was completely absurd. You knew he probably had a few screws loose but not to his extent.
"I'm gonna win." he meant it too. Not only did he make himself the enemy but also the rest of your class. That was not what you needed.
Katsuki stepped down from the stage and walked back to your class. "Way to go dipshit," you hissed, smacking him in the back of the head.
"If you don't stop that shit, I'll blow your ass all the way up to the moon," he responded, Cracking a few controlled sparking in his hands.
"Your stupid intimidation tactics won't work on me you slob," you replied, walking next to Mina and starting a conversation up with her. The two of you talked while Katsuki went off to do his own thing.

Around twenty minutes later the staff piled all the participants into a blocked-in section. You were crammed and didn't really know how to get out. People elbowed you from side to side and you could practically feel the bruises forming on your ribs.
The doors opened not long after. You got what was going on rather quickly. They were trying to see who was smart enough to find an alternative way out. You climbed onto the shoulders of a guy near you, then onto another pair. They were wobbly, and you had to stay on all fours to not fall, but thankfully, you were towards the front.
You got out not long after Todoroki. He had frozen all the remaining contestants in, so that eliminated most of the competition. Three giant robots stood in your way, the same kind as the zero pointers in the entrance exam.
These were an opponent that the recommendation students had never seen before. You hadn't taken one down, but you knew that there was no point in trying. So, you would follow the next opening you saw, and you'd roll with it.
Todoroki froze the robot, and claimed they were unstable. That was when you followed him. If you timed it right, and ran close to him, there was no way you'd get crushed. And you turned out to be right. You just barely escaped unscathed.
You continued running, Momo, Katsuki, Kirishima, and Testsutestsu close behind. they were the others who had managed to find their way through. Midoriya seemed to be following as well. He was pretty much in the same boat as you.
Sure, he actually had a quirk, but using it now would be detrimental to his chance at winning overall. At least you didn't break all your bones every time your tried to do something. You didn't even have the option.
You had fairly good endurance, so keeping up with most people wouldn't be a problem. That's what you thought anyways, until you got to the canyon. There were wires that stretched from pillar to pillar, down to a large pit.
-----
Long story short, you made it across, but since you were pretty far ahead, most people got across about the same time as you. All you had to do now was make it to the finish line given your placement in the standings.
Right now you'd guess you stood at around 15th place. Pretty good, and better than you expected. There was about one kilometer left on the track. It would be a stretch, but if you were lucky, you'd be able to hold out a sprint for the remainder of the time.
(it's about .62 miles)
You started off with a fast jog and planned to continue with that pace for about .2 miles. That seemed alright, seemed.
You were launched through the air from what seemed with a land mine. It expelled purple dust and landed you flat on your ass.
They were pretty hard to see, but they were noticeable. It hurt, but it got you farther along the course.
You jumped on another and flew straight forward this time. You rolled on landing, trying to distribute the impact. It didn't do much, but it helped a little. So, you did it again, and again. You passed contestants that were ahead of you, until you were out of the field.
Then all you had to do was run. Todoroki, Katsuki, and Midoriya were ahead of you, using their quirks to propel themselves forward. You wouldn't catch up, that was for sure, but if you tried hard enough, you'd be able to close the gap a bit, and create one between you and the people behind you.
There was another strategy you had come up with. In one of your rougher landings, you had uprooted a mine. Maybe it would amount to nothing, but you kept it tight in our hands. if you were sure to not press the trigger, then maybe, just maybe, you could throw it at whoever tried to pass you.
Hopefully it wasn't against the rules, but you'd try.
Just moment later, you got a chance to test this theory. You threw the mine at a small girl, coming up behind you. "Eat rocks bitch!" you yelled, throwing the loaded weapon at her. She triggered the trigger and sent herself flying off course.
You laughed, not in a sadistic way, but in a 'wow, I didn't expect that to work' way. She was the only close competition on the track, and that would most likely bump her back a few places.
You sprinted to the finish line and claimed the fourth-place spot for yourself. The three in front of you sat down on the lawn, trying to catch their breath, while you stood to the side, waiting for the remaining contestants to pull through.
