Wanting

"Hey, I'm back!" your voice yelled to the seemingly empty house. Katsuki lifted his eyes from the TV screen to meet yours, and your warm smile nearly sent him into heart failure.

"Welcome back," Mitsuki said, running to you for a hug. You hugged her back while Katsuki gained his composure. Missing you was all he had been doing while you were away. Your tired eyes looked into his as you picked up your bags and brought them into your room.

He could hear the door quietly shut, even from the first floor. His mother sighed and set down the book she had been holding before. "You should go talk to her; I know the trip must have been rough for her," Mitsuki said, sitting down at the kitchen table.

Katsuki saw the time on the kitchen clock. It read 12:37 AM. He knew you were tired, but still, the urge to see you pulled him forward against his will, and before he knew it, he was at your door.

The door handle stared intimidatingly back at him. You sat silently in your room. He opened the door as his heart raced wildly.

You looked towards him with an obviously forced smile and his heart dropped to his feet. Katsuki walked towards you as you laid back down and stared at the ceiling.

He didn't ask questions as you turned away from him, facing the wall. The air felt cold as a breeze blew from the open window, and you both shivered.

"I can go if you don't want to talk," he said as you didn't make a sound.

"Please, don't go. I need your company," you whispered.

He didn't go.

Katsuki laid down in the bed beside you. He didn't even know what he was doing, he just let his feelings guide him as he wrapped his arms around your waist. You held his hand in yours, melting into his touch.

"Why are you doing this?" you asked, tensing up a bit. "Shouldn't we just be friends?"

"I don't want to be just friends," Katsuki replied softly, his voice carrying a warmth that melted away any doubts about the confession in his mind. As he drew you closer, his breath caressed your skin, and just like that, the cold air warmed. "I want more than that," he whispered, his arms enfolding you in a comforting embrace. "I want... you."

He felt you eased up a bit.

"Nothing makes sense in my head right now. This does though. Laying here with you. This makes sense"

Suddenly, Katsuki lifted his weary head from his textbook. "Bakugo, were you paying attention at all?" Aizawa questioned. He didn't answer the question in the slightest. He'd been getting less and less sleep lately.

"I- I have to go to the bathroom," was all he said in return. Katsuki pushed the classroom door open and quickly walked down the hall. He didn't care it Aizawa was in the middle of a lesson, because he needed to clear his head. Everyone had noticed his recent slump, and everyone knew it was because you were gone. They only knew as much as he did, which was nothing.

Afternoon light shined through the large open window as he reached the science hall. Katsuki slid down the wall and tucked his knees into his chest, staring blankly at the white tiles. Everything was going wrong.

A sigh left his lips, followed by a cold tear. He missed you, more than anything, and he didn't know how to make it stop. The tears came harder now, it had been awhile since he last cried, and eternity even. Although in reality it was only a few months ago, at the whole sludge Villain ordeal. Still, this was completely different.

It wasn't pain, fear, anger, or sadness. It was a heartache; one he couldn't describe in words. A deep wanting that he didn't think could ever be fulfilled.
