"Fuya what are you doing here?"

Your father stood at the doorway, staring at your mother with wide eyes. She didn't look like she knew what to say, and your father looked equally as shocked.

"I- I wanted to talk to you sooner, I just couldn't bring myself to call you, and chance what you had already built-" Your mother started, but was cut off as your father ran towards her, embarrassing her in his arms.

"I thought you were gone, for good. I missed you so much," he said. This was the second time you had seen your father cry. For the same person, but for a better reason.

--

That night your family walked you home. It was the first time you had ever done something with your entire family. It was also the first time your mother had talked your brother, well, with him responding anyways.

Of course, she regretted not being there, but she didn't expect to be alive for much longer when she left, so in her mind, it was better to not let him get attached than to have him grieve. Even if it was selfish, your brother seemed to understand where she was coming from.

Your family couldn't stay long, but after ordering food, and hanging out in your fully decorated, and finally unpacked apartment, you were content. Because for the first time in so long, you felt like you had a real family.

A/N: This was a short one. I didn't want to make this a whole chapter, just kind of a continuation of the last one.
