The Beach

A/N: Writing this in January, the summer greif is so real. Almost started crying. I miss the beach so much, the things I'd do to go camping, be by the water all day, spend all day outside with friends, go on late summer night drives, 4th of july parties, campfires with friends, smores and barbecue parties. Is this seasonal deppression?

You let out a sigh of relief, finally making it to the lake. For a hot day, it was surprisingly empty. The scenery was stunning. A large stretch of beach in front of you lined with trees allowing for partial shade. A rack of canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards for everyone to use, a rope attached to a giant oak, and ducks calmly swimming around the outer edges.

"Isn't this great?" you said, a wide smile stretching across your face. You walked to the edge of the sun line and set down your bag beside Mina. Then you set up your towels out and layed down.

"Aren't you coming in!?" Kaminari yelled, who had already peeled his shirt off and dove for the water.

"Not now, we're going to take a moment to relax first, we'll be in in a minute," Mina yelled, slipping her sunglasses over her face while you turned over, exposing your back to the sun first. Katsuki layed his towel down next to yours, slipping off his shirt and shoes, before getting ready to sit down.

"What are you doing?" Mina asked, lowering her glasses and giving him a judgemental look. You did the same, sitting up to face him.

"Laying down?" he said, completely confused.

"This is girl time," Mina said, waveing him off.

"You had girl time the entire walk here," He complained, looking for you to help.

"And?"

He gave you one last pleading look but you shrugged your shoulders. Mina made to rules, you were just living by them. Then Katsuki gave a frustrated groan, kicking sand up along with his towel and trudging waste deep in water.

"Ugh, it's so annoying how obsessed he is," Mina laughed, laying back down.

"Huh?" you said, looking away from your phone and raising an eyebrow to you. She continued to close her eyes, and reached her arms behind her head crossing her legs with a smile. A devious smile.

"Can't you see? He obviously likes you," she scoffed, acting as if it was perfectly obvious.

"As if," you laughed, looking back to your phone. "If he liked me he'd probably just say it like he says everything else."

"You know Katsuki," she started, lowering her eyes to the water where he splashed a wave knocking Kaminari down, glancing over to you before trying to dunk Sero under. "But I know Katsuki in love. It's perfectly normal, but you can't see it the way I do. I see the way he looks at you when you're not looking."

"You're crazy," you laughed, but something about it made you think, and you found your laugh cut short as you began to slip into thought. "Do you really mean it?"

You sighed, putting your phone down and crossing your arms to use as a pillow. This made her spare a glance.

"What do you mean by that?" She propped herself up on one elbow to question you.

"I don't know. I just don't want to think things have changed. They were going so good know? It's all so perfect and I want to keep it this way. But if he actually does like me like you think, won't that change everything? I've just lost so much, I can't lose him too," you sighed.

Mina thought on it for a moment. She was your friend, and she'd be honest with you no matter what. "Do you love him? Because I think if you deny yourself the chance to try, not loving him will hurt you more than giving it a chance."
