You stepped off the train, Kousei at your side, and a suitcase packed full of everything you had left behind. He noticed how different you were, how much a three day trip had changed you. You gave the family a faint smile, and went up to hug Katsuki.
"Are you alright?" he asked, a bit shocked at your reaction. You let you and looked up at his face.
"This may sound weird, but I'm so relived I went. I'll tell you all about it," you smiled. You had to get it off your chest, tell him everything that happened. You had to tell someone, and it felt like he was the only one you could trust.
Mitsuki helped you to load your things into the car and you sat in the backseat with Kousei and Katsuki at your sides. You rested your head on Katsuki shoulders, and in a sudden moment of realization and confusion, all the feelings you had pushed back for so long headed to your head once more.
You had pushed so much back for so long, came up. You really cared about him, but you weren't even sure how. Somewhere along the lines, the feelings you had for him blurred into a jumbled mess of emotions.
—
When you got home, Katsuki sat down with you on your bed, and you began to explain. Right from the start, he heard it all. Everything about Umito, everything about your mother. He tried not to shed a few tears, but you calmly talked through it.
He could tell something had happened to you while you were away. But how can you explain something like letting the one person your whole life revolved around go. For the longest time everything you did was to make up for the guilt and pain of losing him. How do you even put that into words?
At the end, he gave to a long embrace, and the two of you sat in your bed with Umi and Kousei watching a movie for the rest of the night before heading back to school and returning to everyday life like nothing had happened.
--
There was a brief moment in class where everyone came over to comfort and reassure you, but after a while of reassuring you were fine, everything began to fall back into place.
"I'm not sure about the other classes, but Mr. Mic said we're going to watching a movie for the whole class period since we don't want to start a new unit," Katsuki reassured.
"That sounds fun," you said, slouching over and taking another sip of your iced coffee the two of you had stopped to get.
"I think it's the polar express or something..."
"No!" you yelled, shooting out of your seat. "I have nightmares about that shit," you said, wide eyed like you had just seen a ghost. (Honestly, that movie is nightmare fuel like)
"Woah, just kidding," Kaminari laughed, holding his hands up in defense.
"Quiet down everyone," Aizawa said, walking through the door. Kaminari turned his seat back around to his desk, you sat down, and Katsuki stayed seated where he was.
"I don't have much to say for homeroom today, so I'll let Present Mic get stared. I know he has some 'important work' for all of you," Aizawa finished, rolling his eyes as a giddy Mr. Mic walked in.
"Alright, let's get this started!" he yelled, shoving a DVD into the machine.
"What are we watching?" Mina asked and the projector loaded.
"Barbie Thumbelina, the school wouldn't approve anything else since they weren't 'school appropriate' which is a load of crap," he complained as movie began to play.
"What else did you ask to play?" Kirishima laughed, leaning back in his seat.
"Insidious."
--
"I was kind of hoping they would bulldoze the flower field."
"(y/n)!" Mina yelled in shock.
"What!? I hate those damn fairies, that has got to be the worst movie in the entire Barbie franchise!" you countered, crossing your arms and leaning back in your seat.
"You take that back right now!" she yelled back. You could practically see the tears brimming her eyes.
"No, I said what I said."
"I hope they kill every single one of those fucking shithead fairies," Katsuki chimed in, taking a bite of his food.
"Yes!" you yelled, throwing your hands up in the air. "Total extinction!"
Kaminari chimed in, chanting 'wipe them out' while Mina tried to get you two to stop.
That's honestly how the rest of the day went.
Your mood skyrocketed and suddenly, you were excited all over again for the trip that would come in only a few short days.
Katsuki, however, was just happy to spend that time with you.
A/N: SHIT CHAPTER, but whatever
