The next morning was as usual

The next morning was as usual. By lunch, it was the opposite. My travel agent reached out to me with a final draft of our Udaipur itinerary, I got a call for an interview, and a friend of mine invited me for her wedding. Too much to take in, in a short time.

I reviewed the draft and didn't find anything to be changed. But before giving the go-ahead to my agent, I sent it to the group. Two of them replied with a "go ahead" within 15 minutes. Sahana still had to.

The interview I got was scheduled for tomorrow. My overthinking brain started to overthink all possible things to go wrong in the interview. I arrive late, fumbling, zoning out, and whatnot. All this overthinking, only to find out it was an online interview.

Today Diego made me take him on a long walk. I mean it when I say, he took me for a walk. He always leads the way, I'm just there so he doesn't get lost. Just kidding, he never gets lost, and never will. Shit, my overthinking mind is getting ready to work at full speed.

By the time Diego and I returned from our walk, Mom and Dad had come home. I broke the news of my friend's wedding and the reactions were as expected.

"One more friend? When is yours then?" My dad asked.

He jokes around such an important topic so easily. I get scared for myself, given my situation, I'm sure to have an arranged marriage. And given the stuff my dad says and how casually he takes my life and its decisions. I'm hella scared.

Anyway, my mom reacted with "Oh! Nice. Where's the wedding?"

"Mangalore," I said.

"You'll go by flight?" My dad asked.

"No. It's for two days. So..."

"So, what? You can go one day and come back the next. You thought of coming back the same day?" My dad interrupted.

"No. All my friends are going. So we planned to go by bus. We are also planning to perform for her sangeet." I completed the sentence in one breath, just so that my dad wouldn't get a chance to interrupt me again.

"OK. Calm down, take a breath." My mom said concerned.

I just nodded. We all got back to our work. And just like it was time for dinner. Just as I was about to leave the room, I got a message from Sahana in the group.

Sahana: Dude, it doesn't mention Sajjangarh Fort in the itinerary. It just tells that the day is for shopping and then transfer to Jawai.

Me: Oh is it? I'll tell them.

Sahana: No need to get back and ask us again. Suppose they add it and send it over, you check and finalize it. Don't ask us again. It will just take more time.

Me: OK. Is everyone ok with it?

Ramya: Yeah, works for me.

Shreya: Yup! I'm ok.
