"Hey, kann kanalveno goobe?"
A random guy blocked our way and got into the auto we hailed.
"Sorry! Sir aap chaliye." The man said.
(Sorry! Sir let's go.)
"Avella gotilla! Iliyo kelage..."
(I don't know all that! Get down you...)
But before Aditi could complete her scolding the man had gone with the auto.
"These Northies I tell you!" She huffed.
"Leave it! He did seem to be in a hurry." Rashmi said calming Aditi.
"True. Anyway, we can easily find autos here. It is not Bangalore." I said lightning the moment.
I was correct. We caught an auto within the next 5 minutes and were on our way to the venue.
The reception/sangeet was very refreshing. We had rehearsed a few steps with the help of a YouTube video and thankfully no one messed up on stage.
By the time we wrapped up dinner, it was 10 pm. We headed out and were relieved to find autos outside the venue. We didn't waste time and headed back to our rooms. These cities usually get empty and creepy by late night.
Once in the hotel, we called it a day and retired to our rooms. Before departing we decided on the plan for tomorrow, which was marriage and then the beach.
I came to my room. No one had shown up so I was alone. I got ready for bed and tucked myself nicely. In no time I was off to sleep. It had to do with the travel and the function.
Timeskip.
I woke up just in time for my alarm to ring. Took a nice cold bath, because Mangalore being a beach city was extremely humid. Once done with the basic skincare, I got my saree out along with the necessary accessories.
It took me about an hour to get ready. The saree took almost half that time. For the amount of sarees I wear, it shouldn't have taken so long. Anyway, I was ready before the others. I locked my room and headed to the other room where my friends were getting ready.
In another 30 minutes, everyone was in the room all ready to leave. Just like last night we took autos but today we took 3 different autos - 2 in each because of sarees.
As soon as we got off the auto at the venue some creeps, started staring at us. We ignored them and moved forward, but they didn't stop they started whistling and eve-teasing. We rushed into the venue where they wouldn't come.
It took us a few minutes to relax and gain back our composure. Before entering the wedding hall, we took a few pictures. It is always best to take pictures when you are fresh as a daisy.
Once everyone was happy with their pictures, it was time to head in. Our friend sat in all the bridal glory. We entered at the right time. The pandit asked the groom to tie the Nuptial chain. It was such an emotionally overwhelming sight to watch. My eyes were damp with happiness.
After all the rituals were done we went on stage and congratulated our friend and headed for lunch. We were so full after lunch that we pushed the beach plan for later. Our priority now was a good post-lunch nap.
Thankfully we reached our hotel with no creepy staring or eve-teasing. We then changed into comfy clothes and took the much-needed nap.
Timeskip.
The clock struck 4:30 pm, and we were headed to the nearest beach. Being a weekday, the beach wasn't crowded. We enjoyed our time by the beachside. Nothing is as therapeutic as waves hitting the shore.
We had spent more than an hour at the beach, we indulged ourselves in some of the street foods. Even after eating near the beach some of us weren't full. So, we headed to the famous Pabbas Ideal Café of Mangalore.
After filling our tummies with yummy food and ice cream it was time to head back to the hotel and pack for the night's journey back home.
Timeskip.
All packed we are at the bus stand waiting for our bus to arrive. I spotted the same guys who were at the entrance of the wedding venue. It creeped me out. Were they following us or was it just a coincidence?
I elbowed Aditi when the uneasy feeling increased.
"What the..." she turned towards me.
"Those guys from the morning are here!" I whispered.
"Who? Where?"
"Near that Vikram Transports Yellow bus," I said not wanting to point towards them.
Aditi saw them and turned towards me.
"Ignore them. They are here for the same reasons. Don't pay attention."
I turned my back to the guys. It helped in ignoring them.
"Hey, beauty! Yellige savari?" One guy asked.
(Where are you going?)
"Naavu baroda?" The other one chimed in.
(Shall we also come?)
They started walking towards us. We just stood there not knowing what to do. Just then, our bus arrived, we picked up our luggage and headed towards it.
"Baby, don't leave us." They said closing the gap soon.
Aditi climbed in just in time but I was a bit late and one of the guys groped my ass. It wasn't a graze or swipe it was a squeeze. I was disgusted by their actions but like every other female decided not to confront them or make a scene.
My delusion mind heard a low growl when the guy winked back at me. I ignored my mind and the incident that had just taken place and decided to carry on as usual.
