"Then she should be the one getting married first. Isn't it?" Prajwal said.

No way! Here I thought he was defending and protecting me. But he just pushed me under the bus when the time came. Everyone who comes into my life is just the same.

I was frustrated. I never expected this from him. What if my father takes his suggestion seriously? What if he gets hell-bent on getting me married before Bhoomi?

For the rest of the dinner, I kept my silence. Not wanting to invite any more problems. Prajwal tried talking to me throughout but I didn't entertain him. I just answered his questions straight to the point. Questions like when I'd be free to go through with the interview process, if I'd want a chauffeur to the office or if I'd commute myself and others I didn't pay much attention to.

After dinner, I excused myself to use the washroom. I splashed some cold water on my face, refreshing myself. When I walked out, I was pulled to the other side by some strong force. I shut my eyes not knowing what to do.

It was exactly like what I read in my books, the female lead is pulled to the side by the male lead. But given my luck in such cases, it wasn't any male lead but Prajwal Gowda.

He didn't cage me between his arms or anything. He just pulled me to a corner where no one was there and stood in such a way he was blocking any form of exit for me.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"Tell me! What happened?"

"What should I tell you? I have nothing to tell. Just let me go."

"I haven't held onto you. You can leave if I'm making you uncomfortable."

"Uncomfortable? Now? No! But yes, you have no idea what you've done. You might have just ruined my entire life. All just by that one statement of yours. If you had to save yourself, you could have said anything, why bring up the fact of my marriage?"

"That's it! That's the issue. Now can you please calm down!?" He said with a rather amusing smile on his face. It was only when he asked me to calm down did I realise I was all hyper. But his smile enraged me even more. How could he smile while calming someone down, does he find my frustration so funny?

"You find this funny? I guess you don't know and you shouldn't know as well. But, I'm telling you anyway. Because when it comes to my sanity, I'm not stepping back. Just by what you said, my father won't think twice before getting me married to some random guy. Only because you indirectly mentioned that you'd marry Bhoomi if I got married first. I am already drained mentally, dealing with my father isn't easy. Especially when he never misses a chance to berate me and tell me how much of a failure I am. Please don't add to my suffering." At this point I wasn't frustrated or angry, I was pleading, pleading for my sanity, my happiness, my peace. "You asked me to call you Anna. I did! You said I remind you of your sister. I accepted you as my elder brother. But this isn't what elder brothers do. They don't hurt their sisters."
