"Sorry, ma'am this place is accessible only to check-in guests."
That was it, my brain went into its favourite station. Nervous overthinking station.
*This is exactly what happened in the dream. Be ready for the masculine voice.* My subconscious reminded me of the dream.
I went so blank, that my friends' voice got me back to reality.
"Just one picture, please?" Sahana requested the staff.
"Sorry ma'am. We cannot do that."
"Ok! No problem," Shreya said. "Let's go girls. We'll go near the marble floor."
They all started moving but I stood like a statue, still unable to take in what happened. Only when Ramya pulled me along did my feet move.
"Uff! That was close!" I said walking towards the marble floor.
"Yeah! But it wasn't that much of an issue. They could have let us take just one picture." Sahana grumbled.
"They have rules and we have to follow them," Shreya said calming Sahana down. "But, I'm unable to understand why you are so shocked, Amrutha?" She asked me.
"Uh! Nothing I was thinking something." I answered with words that came to my mouth first.
"Thinking so deep? You were standing there like a statue." Shreya continued her interrogation.
"Stop it, Sherlock Holmes. We have arrived at the location, let's start with the pictures. The driver might come any minute." I said changing the topic.
We took pictures to our heart's content and when the driver called to announce his arrival, we headed out. Once back to our rooms, we called it a night.
Time skip.
The next day we headed out early. We had a 2-hour drive ahead of us to Chittorgarh fort. The other place I was nervous about visiting.
Before leaving I mentally decided not to take many photos and indulge myself completely in the guided tour. But I was wrong, my mind betrayed me. I do not blame it though, the place was so stunning, I couldn't stop myself from taking pictures.
Our guide was so sweet, she even taught us some folk steps and recorded a video for us. I was always curious about history, and Chittorgarh Fort was the perfect fuel for my curiosity.
The place was so beautiful, I couldn't imagine how it would have looked in all its glory. After lunch, we concluded our tour and headed back to Udaipur.
I was more than happy. One, the fort tour was spectacular and two, my stupid dream didn't come true. Now that all my dreams about the trip are over, I can finally enjoy it to the fullest.
