The next few days just flew by. I reached out to my travel agent, they asked for a few days time to get an itinerary and quote. This is the third time I've asked them for itineraries, the previous two times I just left them hanging.

It wasn't my fault though. My parents were the ones who said no at the end. So, yeah that's that. This time they are the ones who book everything for us. I feel somewhat happy. Like I've undone the imaginary mess created in my head for previous times.

But the main highlight of the day is my interview. I finally got one after a million rejections.

*Oh come on! Not a million. Stop exaggerating.* my stupid subconscious mocked.

I was bursting with nervousness. I hadn't told a soul about this. Not even Aditi, my best friend. The clock was running today. Whenever I we want time to go slow it speeds up, like it will miss something.

I checked myself in the mirror and my phone camera before sitting. It was an online interview but I had to ensure I was dressed properly. You never know if I'd have to stand up in between or if they ask me to stand. I mean, a girl can always think.

*Overthink!* this subconscious of mine I tell you. Is it possible to murder your subconscious?

*Why don't you overthink that too?*

Ugh!!! Ignoring the voice in my head. I clicked the meeting link and sat with my camera on.

That's all I did, I sat in front of my laptop waiting for the interviewer to come. But they decided to ghost me. Like seriously? Where's the professionalism to inform the candidate?

I shut my laptop after waiting for 25 minutes. Yes 25 whole minutes, can you believe it?

Time Skip

Mom and Dad arrived from work. Seeing me all decked up, Dad asked...

"What special?"

"Shooting some videos?" Mom asked.

I nodded no.

"Then?"

"I had an interview."

"Oh wow. How did it go?" Dad asked, for once seeming curious about something that involves me.

"I don't know. It didn't happen."

"Why? Did you go late? Online only you had right? That also couldn't attend on time?" Dad and his accusations. I swear one day, I'll give back and that day will change everything.

"No, I was on time. Moreover, I was 10 mins early. But the interviewer didn't show up."

"You saw the timings and date properly?" Mom asked looking concerned.

She's one person who understands my pain in this family.

"Yes, the link is accessible only at the time. They didn't even give a reason or another date for an interview." Just as the words left my mouth, my phone dinged with an email. I saw the sender, it was the company I had an interview with.
