With Mom leaving early in the morning, the entire house fell under my duty. The maid came in and did her job. Now all that's there to handle is the food - for Diego and us. Once back from the gym, I started prepping lunch. I prepared roti and a paneer curry.

And right on time, Dad came home. He had a parcel in his hand. Great, he couldn't inform me he was getting takeout. I would have saved so much time. But guess what, not only did he decide to not tell me but he got take out only for himself - and a bit for Diego as well. But my point is he didn't get anything for me.

"I thought you would have already ordered for yourself." He said in his defence.

"Now, you have to have this roti and curry for dinner," I stated.

"Done, we both will have it for dinner. Now, you order something for yourself. I don't want you ordering in the night when I have to eat roti curry." He said.

Like seriously? He can eat takeout when I eat home food but I can't? Typical Dad behaviour!

Keeping my thoughts aside, I ordered a Subway Sandwich for myself. Kept the roti and paneer curry in the fridge.

Dad left after lunch. What followed was the kitchen work - the dishes, the countertops, and wiping them dry. Once done with that, I got back to my phone. Messaged Mum about the day's whereabouts. Not like she'd see immediately but for whenever she saw.

I got a message from my travel agent on payment being due. I changed into some good clothes and left home for their office. I had the amazing idea of using public transport rather than taking my car. Because their office had very limited parking and that my friends turned out not to be a good idea.

For starters, the buses didn't stop at all. Even if they did, there wasn't any space for me to get in. People were hanging off the door. And as much as I liked adventure sports this wasn't one I wanted to try. So, it took me around 20 minutes to get a bus.

After the torturous bus ride, I walked to the agent's office only to find empty spaces. I could have just got my car. Now, there's no going back. I walked and was greeted with silence.

"Fuck, I probably came during lunch break," I said to myself. Just as I was about to leave,

"How many I help you ma'am?" A young lady called me from behind.

"Hi! I'm here to make the payment." The moment the words left my mouth, I mentally face-palmed myself. Like she knew who I was and what payment I was talking about. They probably had many trips and clients. The lady also looked new to the place. I hadn't seen her here before.

"Sorry ma'am, could you please let me know which trip? Or your name?" Well, my guess was right.

*Oh please! You had to be more specific.* My subconscious taunted.
