I was still recovering from the girls' trip to Udaipur and now I'm packing to Mangalore. I somewhat wanted this lifestyle. Travelling most of the time. Making content out of it. But it is not every time I get to do it.

Anyway, Udaipur and Mangalore were very different, apart from their locations. Udaipur was a girls' trip and this trip to Mangalore was to attend a function. One of my friends from college is getting married. Initially, I had decided to go only to the wedding but it felt hectic and all my other friends were going to both functions.

I started at my suitcase. I got the tiniest one present at home. It had two main dresses - a dress and a saree, my innerwear, cosmetics and a spare just in case we decided to visit a beach. Every time I see my innerwear I think about the books I read. As it is explained the females wear silk lingerie and mine are just normal cotton ones. No appeal whatsoever. Not that I intend to seduce anyone but still a thought is a thought.

"All ready?" My mom's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah. Just check once if I've missed something please." I asked. Nowadays it feels very formal talking to my parents, especially my father.

"Nope. You haven't missed anything. And even if you have it's Mangalore not some new place." My mom said sitting down on my bed. I could make out from her stance this wasn't the end. She had more to say. And I was right.

"You will have spare time tomorrow, right? You will reach in the morning and the function is at night. So, you can go visit Bhavya Aunty's house." She said slyly.

I knew it. I wouldn't mind visiting, they weren't the typical relatives who would try to dig into what's happening but still when out with friends I didn't want to be the odd one out.

"I'll see. I don't know what the others have planned. They want to practice some dance in the morning." I said.

"Ok! But try, I've told her you are coming to Mangalore and she insisted you go for lunch..."

"Mummaaaaa..." My voice was enough for my mom not to push further.

"Fine! Fine! Decide later. Now have dinner. You don't want to miss your bus."

I took one last check of my list and the suitcase and added a few items for emergency - though I wouldn't use them - it is always better to pack extra than be in a shortage. I zipped up the suitcase, took it to the living area and placed it near the door. I then proceeded to the dining table.

My dinner was simple - my favourite curd rice and pickle and vegetable palya. I didn't eat to my satisfaction. I was travelling overnight by bus and didn't want to take washroom breaks. I am paranoid about the bus leaving me, so I'm always super cautious when it comes to bus rides.

Once I was all ready to leave, I swung my hand luggage over my shoulder and pulled up the suitcase trolley. I gave Diego a big hug and left. Dad dropped me off at the bus station. The company had provided us with bus tracking so we didn't have to wait for long. 5 minutes after we arrived at the station the bus arrived and I hopped in.
