"Hiccup! Zyrah!"

"Guys!? Where are you!"

With the defeat of the Warlords and the utter destruction left behind from the great battle, all the warriors from the tribes were collecting themselves and recovering when it was noticed that neither Hiccup nor Zyrah were anywhere to be found.

Panicking, the riders and their closest friends searched the woods of the Edge for several hours, with no sign of them. Konall and Astrid took to the skies searching for their partners, with Ana close behind in case they had serious injuries. Stormfly sniffed the air, hoping yet not to catch the scent of blood, or the scent of anything.

Then, she picked up on something. Something towards the westernmost point of the Edge. She angled down, with the others close behind, and the scent grew stronger. She even picked up on the scene of the Monstrous Nightmare gel having been ignited. Hiccup was around here somewhere.

"There!" Fishlegs pointed, seeing several figures lying in the grass near a cliff.

"Oh Gods!" They all landed, coming across Hiccup and Zyrah, with Toothless, Blueheart, and the Light Fury, all of them covered in blood. But whose blood remained a temporary mystery.

Zyrah had acquired a serious wound to her upper right arm, and Hiccup had tried to quell the bleeding.

"Odin's beard! Hiccup!" Astrid cried, not giving Stormfly a chance to land as she jumped from the saddle, rushing to her partner and Zyrah.

"Zyrah!" Came Konall, followed by Rurik, the two also joining Hiccup and Astrid, "Oh gods, are you okay? What happened?" Konall questioned, pulling her close, urgently assessing her himself.

"We're okay..." Zyrah softly assured, breathing deeply. Ana also came to her side, pulling out a bandage to wrap around her arm.

"What... in the name of Thor happened?" Snotlout questioned, unable to comprehend the scene he was seeing. Hiccup and Zyrah both explained that they had managed to separate Grimmel and the Light Fury, sending them to the ground and then explained that they allowed both Toothless and Blueheart to kill Grimmel, sending his mangled body to the violent surf below.

To say everyone was equally horrified was an understatement. Zyrah, they could see allowing the two Furies to kill on command, but Hiccup? That was so unlike him.

"He caught my arm as he fought back, but I'm alright otherwise," she assured with a wry smile.

"I can't believe you guys let them kill him, just like that!"

"Well. Blueheart already killed a couple of the Deathgrippers to protect Toothless, I knew she was prepared to take Grimmel's life, too." Both Hiccup and Zyrah agreed to not share the specific order they'd given, not willing to gauge their partner's reactions.

Meanwhile, the Light Fury fully recovered from the influence of the venom, now conscious and aware, though sore and a bit woozy. Blueheart came to her friend's side to check on her.

Thank you both for saving me. You didn't have to. She managed to say.

Yes, we did. You're under our protection, we wouldn't let anyone harm you. Toothless assured, also please don't tell Nightfire we killed someone.

Well, ought to wash the blood off you first. But the secret's safe with me.

All parties were brought back to the Edge for rest and recovery. But now came the topic of what to do about the dragons. Having up and left Berk to protect them all, only to be followed and targeted anyway, and for the Light Fury having been captured and controlled twice, and Toothless and Blueheart putting themselves at risk... it was all far too much.
