LUCIEN ROLLED his eyes to himself despite how uncomfortable he felt by the way Evie was looking at him with a look full of mistrust.

"Evie, I'm so glad you're here." Cerelia beamed at her sister, sitting next to Lucien on the sofa in the living room.

Lucien sighed to himself, shifting uncomfortably on his seat. Yes, it was his idea to call Cerelia's sister here after  reading the texts between the two. But was he sort of regretting it now? Maybe. And absolutely if Evie continues to throw those murderous glares at him.

"Tea? Coffee?" He asked dryly.

Evie raised an amused brow at him. "No thanks. I'm here to just talk."

Lucien nodded lazily. "Fine."

"I'm not liking your attitude, Mr. Castle." Evie stared at him. "You called me here to talk. I'd prefer much more hospitality."

"Okay. . . Let's all calm down." Cerelia interceded, looking between them worriedly. "I'll get some juice for you, Eves. Orange. Your favourite. I'm sure there must be some in the refrigerator."

"Don't bother." She denied even though Cerelia was already halfway across the living room. "Like I said. I'm just here to talk. So, Mr. Castle, talk."

Cerelia begrudgingly returned back, throwing quick glances at Lucien who was thinking on how to start.

"You've been angry with your sister. . ." he began, but Evie clicked her tongue loudly to interrupt him.

"That's between me and my sister. What do you wanna talk about?"

"That's precisely what I wish to talk about. Because it appears that I am somehow the reason behind it."

"True." She hummed and Lucien's jaw ticked in annoyance.

"Evie." Cerelia looked at her sister scoldingly. "Please."

"Fine." Evie rolled her eyes like the stubborn teenager that she is.

"Cerelia lost her phone and she also had no idea you were worried about her—" Lucien began.

"—but you knew. Still, you denied my accusations."

"Cerelia hadn't met me yet. It was after you approached me that I started looking for her and found her."

"Where did you find her?" Evie cross questioned.

"By the docks."

Evie's eyes narrowed and Lucien smirked to himself in satisfaction because he knew that seaside is exactly where Cerelia will go for comfort. And Evie also knew that he was right.
