CERELIA WOKE up to complete and utter darkness. And it was after rapidly blinking in order to adjust her eyes to the sight, that she realised that it was in fact the blindfold on her eyes that rendered her to the pitch black nothingness.

She tugged on her hands only to find they've been tied up together in front of her. Due to something miraculous, she was unable to break free of those restraints despite her vampire strength.

She gritted her teeth in annoyance, realising that they were in a moving vehicle but thankfully she was not in the trunk.

"Lucien!" She yelled, turning around blindly. "What is wrong with you!?"

"Shh. Shh. . ." She heard his voice chuckle, before she felt his hand grab onto her tied ones and hold them into her lap.

"Don't be so violent, love." He mused, his voice completely full of amusement.

Cerelia threw her head back in frustration, the lack of information regarding her surroundings annoying her to the core. "What do you want from me!?"

"Oh, I am pretty sure you wouldn't like hearing my answer to that." He chuckled yet once again. "Don't worry, we're almost home."

"Are you seriously kidnapping me again to restrain me at the stupid penthouse?" Cerelia scoffed, using her vampire hearing to make sense of her surroundings. It was awfully quiet out there.

"Not the penthouse, love." Lucien told her as she felt the car slowly come to a stop. "Somewhere far, far different. A lot safer for the time being."

Cerelia paused her brows furrowing as her ears picked up on the sound of a waterfall. "Are we in a goddamned forest, Lucien!?!"

"You'll see for yourself. Have some patience, darling." He almost laughed as he stepped out of the car and soon Cerelia heard her side of the door opening.

"Woah, woah!" She exclaimed in surprise as he easily picked her by the waist and threw her over his shoulder as if she weighed nothing.

"Lucien—!" She exclaimed, her sight still blinded as he began walking, carrying her with him.

She tried to yank at her blindfold but it didn't budge. "Did you seriously spell tie it on me?!"

"Wouldn't want you taking it off, darling." He smirked to himself, his arm around her knees being the only thing that held her up.

"Should have gouged my eyes out instead!" She snapped, her tied hands falling away from her face as she huffed in disbelief.

She let him be as he climbed up a set of stairs, opening a door and the sudden cold of the air conditioner hit her.
