It was perhaps after an hour of her stay at the Mikaelsons when Cerelia's phone rang with quite a known number and she excused herself to attend it outside, away from the earshot of the large number of vampires.

"Hello, love, your house appears to be empty." Lucien said into the call.

"What are you doing at my house?"

"I was merely here with your gifts, love. But nobody's here. I thought you were celebrating Christmas here."

"Yeah, I was, but then the party shifted to Marcel's and then I later had to come to the Mikaelsons'—"

"---sorry?" Lucien cut in, not quite believing his ears. "What are you doing at the Mikaelsons'?"

"It's Christmas—"

"--- you don't spend your Christmas with Mikaelsons." He interrupted.

"I know, but Cami insisted—"

"---I'm picking you up from there right now."

Cerelia blinked in confusion to herself. "I'm fine, Lucien. Everybody's surprisingly nice here. It's fine."

"No, it's not." He answered shortly, as Cerelia heard him turning on his car in the background. "I'm reaching there in five. Either you meet me outside or I barge in."

"Lucien, are you being serious—?!"

Cerelia scoffed to herself in frustration as he hung the call. Scowling to herself she went back inside.

"I'm sorry I had some work come up, I'll really have to leave." Cerelia smiled apologetically at the suit-clad Mikaelson as she gathered her belongings.

"Is everything alright, Cerelia?" Elijah asked, setting his drink down as he turned his concerned eyes to her. "It was Lucien who called, right? What did you say? Are you alright?"

"I'm okay, Elijah. And as much as I appreciate your concern, me and Lucien are alright now. We've cleared things up, we're fine now. He doesn't mean any harm."

"If you say so, I might as well believe you." He offered her a polite smile. "Will you at least allow me to see you out?"

Cerelia hesitated for a moment before smiling at him in approval.

"So, are you busy this weekend?" Elijah asked as they began heading outside.

"I'm afraid so." She passed him an apologetic smile. "The new vampires need training and frankly enough I do too. I need to get back in shape."
