→ Selena Gomez]LUCIEN'S PLAN was in motion.
It was, in fact, in motion as soon as he stepped into New Orleans. Dissemble the Originals' empire and turn himself into a being even superior to them.
This was the ending, though. The beginning was getting under Klaus' confidence.
". . . Little atmosphere, less technique. The work is nothing more than a celebratory ego trip."
"I wouldn't expect you to hold an art show without compelling the critics to speak to your praise." Lucien commented, appearing beside Klaus.
"I wouldn't expect an uncultured savage to crash such a formal affair." Klaus piqued up, his smile sarcastic.
"Ah, not my usual scene, but that mouthy bloodbag does have a point. Your work is derivative of Degas, I'd say. Of course I happen to know, you'd compelled Degas to mentor you. I always thought his work improved after your influence."
"Finally, someone with an eye for art!" Klaus beamed at him, but Lucien could very well see all that pretense.
"I've quite an eye for it, among other things." Lucien shrugged. "Speaking of which, let's have a drink. I'm quite famished."
Several drinks down, and they were trudging across memory lane. Finn, Kol, and of course, Aurora.
"Have you spoken to her?" Klaus asked.
"Who?" Lucien stared at him before realizing, "Oh, you mean her. As you well know, Aurora and I parted ways centuries ago."
Klaus opened his mouth to say something but stopped short on noticing someone at a distance. "Please excuse me. There is someone I need to speak to."
Lucien mumbled lazily. "Hmm. Anyone tasty?"
"Stay here and behave yourself." Klaus said jokingly, making Lucien shrug as he turned to look at the visitors.
"Always."
And, obviously, he listened in.
"Well, I suppose later is better than never, but you are late indeed." Klaus began, advancing towards a pair of girls (or a woman and a girl, to be precise).
"I'm not here for the show. I've a problem and you weren't answering your phone." the blonde said as Lucien took a long sip from his glass of wine.
"But, I, on the contrary, am here for the show." a short haired teenager said brightly.
Lucien heard Klaus heave a dramatic sigh. "And, why, pray tell, you must be for the show, little devil?"
"It's an art show. I'm here for the 'art'." she shrugged, smiling extra widely at the word 'art'.
