WHEN CERELIA regained consciousness, it was way past midnight and she was not surprised to spot Lucien sitting across from her, but she was fairly surprised by the uneasiness on his face.

"Hey." She said, slowly coming into a sitting position on the couch she was laid onto.

"You were passed out in my apartment." Lucien went right into it, pausing for a moment as he did so. "What the hell happened?"

"Um," She grimaced, certainly not fascinated by his tone, "you could check that CCTV right outside your door, for starters."

He glared at her. He was quite on the edge today. Was something going on?

Cerelia sighed, rolling her eyes as she did so. "Klaus snapped my neck and left me inside."

"What?" He asked, almost seething in anger at the sound of his imbecile sire's name and what he did to her.

"Sorry, but Cami wanted her dark objects back so I came with her to get them. Klaus came at the last moment and they argued and then he snapped my neck. He possibly pushed me inside so that Cami can't enter to get me. She's a vampire now, y'know, that's why."

He raised a brow at her in question. "You stole from my house?"

"They were Cami's." She shrugged nonchalantly. "I didn't mind giving her back those. Besides, she has gone berserk as a vampire. She would have gotten them anyway."

Lucien glared at her for a moment longer before muttering a gruff 'fine'.

"You should go now." He told her, earning a surprised look from her.

"Um, okay?" She looked at him with a weird look on her face. "Sure, I guess. But wouldn't you, like, ask me for tea or something? I mean, I thought you would, after we celebrated Christmas so nicely."

He looked at something behind her, a somewhat guilty expression overcoming his face.

Cerelia turned momentarily to glance at whatever might have been behind, but found nothing of sorts. There were just the tall windows and the short corridor leading to his bedroom.

"Well?" She prompted. "Are you mad at me for breaking in and getting my neck snapped and just lying here passed out?"

He sighed to himself, a tinge of annoyance in it. Cerelia hated it immediately.

"No, I'm not mad at you." He told her, definitely no sign of assurance in his voice.

Cerelia sighed, her initial contentment on seeing him after a whole twenty four hours vanishing away slowly.
