ʻ Summer's meant for lovin' and leavin'
I was such a fool for believin' that you
Could change all the ways
you've been livin'
But you just couldn't stop. ʼ

LUCIEN WASN'T surprised when Cerelia didn't come downstairs for lunch.

He cautiously opened the door to their bedroom, holding in one hand a tray of her food as he called out her name. "Cerelia?"

He set the tray down on the dressing table, careful to not make a sound when he spotted her sleeping on the bed.

He smiled to himself watching the peaceful expression on her face and the rapid beating of her heart that assured him that she was there with him, alright and alive.

"Stop staring." She mumbled, her eyes still closed and Lucien bit back a laugh realising that she was not even asleep this whole time.

"I got you food." He told her, moving to pick up the blood bag from the tray. "Sorry, there was only one bag left of your favourite one. Others are B positive."

Cerelia grumbled from her position on the bed, turning her back to him. "Can't you see that I am trying to sleep?"

"But you can't sleep, can you? Get up, you must be hungry. It's been too long since you fed."

Cerelia rolled her, sighing to herself as she pulled herself up in a seated position. "What do you want, Lucien? You only have one bag of A negative. I don't want B positive. It tastes like shit."

"Sorry, love, I will restock the fridge the first thing tomorrow morning." He told her, holding the blood bag in front of her.

Cerelia snatched it from his hand, grumbling to herself. "I am not drinking those B positives."

"However you wish so, love." He shrugged, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched her gulp down the blood.

Cerelia sighed to herself, throwing the drained blood bag across the room as she turned her head up to narrow her eyes at him.

"I want more blood." She told him, a kind of stubborness in her eyes.

Lucien shrugged with an apologetic expression. "Sorry, love, only B positive is left."

Cerelia tilted her head at him, as her glare intensified. And much to Lucien's surprise, she rose on her knees and grabbed him roughly by the collar using one hand.

"Why must you keep me locked up here if you can't even fulfil my most basic need? Hmm?"

Lucien resisted to not smirk at the attitude in her voice. "My bad, sweetheart. Apologies."

Cerelia's eyes blazed with anger at the carelessness in his tone.

A grunt left his lips as she suddenly pulled him in roughly, making his knees hit the bed.
