MONTHS LATER!

-Prince Ndlalifa Mhlongo

Mapholoba: "Inkosana." {The Prince} he whispers then stands smiling so widely waving his ishoba in the air.

Dad: "Mapholoba kwenzenjani?" {...what happened?}

Mapholoba: "Inkosana isitholakele." {the prince has been found}

Dad: "Inkosana?!" {the prince?!}

Mapholoba: "kunjalo nkosiyami." {It is so, my king}

Dad: "Makoti, you are pregnant?! Congratulations my kids. Good job son." he says hugging me and my wife. My wife looks so confused and I'm happy honestly.

Mandisa: "Baba, I'm not pregnant." Dad just smiles.

Mapholoba: "A ceremony of welcoming the prince has to be done ASAP. I will let you know everything when the ancestors have revealed it all to me."

Dad: "Very well my seer." they shake hands and Mapholoba walks out.

Mom: "Makoti isn't the one carrying Inkosana." she says staring into space. This is probably one of her crazy episodes. My mom was diagnosed with bipolar disorder years ago, she tends to hallucinate and make things up that are not normal at all. Dad has made sure that he kept us away from her crazy episodes from when we found out about her condition. It really pains me to see my mom like this.

Me: "Ma, Mandi is pregnant. She is my wife." I try to make her understand. Sometimes she forgets stuff.

Mom: "Your rightful woman is the only..." Dad just drags her by hand to her room. I pull up my wife by hand gently then carry her up the stairs to our bedroom while she giggles all the way.

Mandisa: "Baby!" she giggles when I drop her on the bed.

Me: "Can we please go to the doctor to find out how far are we?" she smiles and kisses me.

Mandi: "Of course babe." I peck her lips then cuddle her on top of the covers with my hands resting on her belly.

NEXT MORNING

We were now driving to the doctor, my cousin's office since she is a gynecologist. She was more than happy to assist us since she loves my wife and they get along pretty well. We find her waiting for us by the reception area, they hug and walk off leaving me behind.

Me: "Hawu! I'm forgotten like that nje?!"

Nandi: "Sorry bhutiza, we are both excited about this."

Me: "And I'm not?" they laugh.

Mandi: "Babe, you walking slow nawe." I chuckle then follow them to the consulting room. She takes some blood tests and then finally the pregnancy test.

Mandi: "How long do we have to wait again?" she asks biting her nails, it's a bad habit she has when nervous.

Nandi: "Five minutes." After the longest five minutes of silence, she looks at the test and turns to us smiling widely.

Nandi: "Congratulations guys, you're three months pregnant." I scream kissing my wife all over her face. She giggles pushing me off her.

Nandi: "Let's do a scan." she instructs my wife to lie on the bed and then applies the gel on her tummy before moving that thing around her stomach.

Mandi: "Oh my god?!" I frown squinting my eyes trying to see what's making them emotional.

Me: "I don't see anything mos mina." they giggle. Nandi points at a little blip on the screen.

Nandi: "That is your champ."
