Malume: "Mshana." he greets taking a seat next to me. We were back in Joburg by the way, mom made me drive us all back home at 03 am because she had a bad vision about her sisters inlaw. Indeed hours later when we just arrived, we received a call from Uncle Mbhekeni that a huge snake was found in my wife and I's bedroom.

Me: "Malume."

Malume: "Tell me, have you tried talking to your wife about talking to her family ?"

Malume: "Ungithatha kancane wena!" he says shaking his head while dusting off his pants and then walks off.

When I walk into our bedroom I find her sprawled out on the bed asleep in her underwear. I quietly lock the door and then carefully put a pillow underneath her. Mama: "You better soundproof that room fast."

Mama: "Where is makoti?"'

Me: "Sleeping. Mah, I'm ordering in today so you don't have to cook."

Mama: "Order whatever you're ordering but I will still cook. You have a pregnant wife and two sons, those people need real food, food with stamina!" I chuckle nodding.

Me: "Okay mah."

Mama: "I want fish and chips." I chuckle nodding.
