I wake up to my man holding my hand tight. I slowly sit up and brush his hand lightly, waking him up in the process. He opens his eyes and smiles at me 

Lifa: "Hey baby." he says softly planting a kiss on my forehead.

Me: "Hey. Why am I here?"

Lifa: "You fainted yesterday." I frown.

Me: "Yesterday?!"

Lifa: "Yes, let me get a doctor."  he kisses me and then walks out. He comes back minutes later with a doctor.

Doctor: "Good morning Mrs M."

Me: "Morning doc. What is wrong with me?"

Doctor: "Wait, how are you feeling? "

Me: "Good thanks."

Doctor: "Okay. According to the tests we ran last night, you ma'am were experiencing a miscarriage."

Lifa: "A mis... what?!" I'm too stunned to speak.

Doctor: "Yes sir, your wife was pregnant with twins and therefore she miscarried one of the twins which in this case we call the Vanishing twin syndrome."

Me: "I don't understand how I was pregnant. I was on injection."

Doctor: "Contraceptives are not always 100% safe Mrs M."

Me: "So what happens to the other baby then?"

Doctor: "We have to make sure that the living twin stays in you for as long as he/she can. The dead fetus tissues will be reabsorbed by your body for the remaining baby."  I touch my stomach as I feel my heart breaking.

Lifa: "Uhm... how far are we?"

Doctor: "11 weeks. We can do an ultrasound?"

Me: "Please."

Lifa: "Baby, I didn't even get to show you the surprise I had for you." he says as he drives off. I guess he's trying to lighten up my mood.

Me: "What is the surprise vele?!" my voice sounds hoarse now because of all the crying I have been doing.

Lifa: "We going there now." I smile and nod. I'm just trying to hold my emotions, I also don't want to be stressing him when he also lost a baby. I also need to comfort him.

Me: "Baby, can we get some ice cream please?" he smiles and kisses the palm of my hand that has been in his hand.

Lifa: "You want that paddle pop or just regular ice cream?"

Me: "Both." he raises one eyebrow glancing at me then quickly focuses on the road again.

Lifa: "You can't eat both baby, you aren't even supposed to be eating anything cold."

Me: "Okay, paddle pop." he nods and parks at the garage. I take a deep breath when I notice that it's the same garage that I fought in.

Lifa: "Let's go together." he unstraps his seatbelt and gets out of the car before coming around the car to get my door. He holds my hand tightly in his and we walk inside the convenience store. I ignore some of the workers' stares who I guess recognize me from that day.

Lifa: "You don't want anything else?" I grab a few snacks, including his and his kids' favorite snacks then he pays. As we walked to the car, someone pushes me forward almost getting me knocked by a car that was driving out. Lifa turns around looking angry

Lifa: "What the fvck is your problem?!"

Man: "Chill man, it was just an honest mistake. It's not like the car knocked her." he says shrugging.

Me: "Baby, let's go."

Man: "Yeah, listen to your jailbird. Toodles lovers!"

Lifa: "I swear people just keep on pushing me. It's like they all just want to experience my ruthlessness!" he says in anger.

Me: "Don't let them baby, you saw what it did to me. We don't want that, we need you here." he smiles and kisses the side of my face. He helps me inside the car and buckles my seat and then goes on to his side, buckles and we drive off.

I'm confused when he drives into one of the biggest estates in Centurion. I look at him but he just smiles a little and continues driving until he parks in front of this big beautiful house. He takes out a gate remote and opens the gate then drives in. He parks in the middle of the driveway and gets out of the car before he opens my door and helps me out of the car.

Lifa: "Welcome home baby." I look at him, trying to process what he just said.

Me: "Mmh?"

Lifa: "Welcome home baby. This is your house baby." I just hug him tightly as I'm just out of words.

Me: "I love it so much. I love you." he kisses me and then holds me in his arms before leading me inside the house. We find his uncle, aunt, and his sons in the dining area.

Uncle: "Makoti, it's good to see you back home and well." he hugs me lightly. Aunt also hugs me tightly rubbing my arms and kissing my head.

Aunt: "You scared me, baby! But I'm happy that you're okay."

Me: "Ngiyabonga."

Uncle: "We have a surprise for you too son." Lifa frowns confused.

Lifa: "What is it baba?"

Man: "This." says a man walking in from the kitchen with this gorgeous older woman and Makhoza. I see Lifa gasp lightly then cover his face with his hands.

Lifa: "Mama?" he asks in disbelief then hugs the woman tightly.

Woman: "It's okay Nkosana kamama."

Lifa: "I am really sorry mama. I apologize from the depth of my heart. I'm sorry." his mom just holds him tightly in her arms brushing his back.
