Ndlalifa Mhlongo.

Honestly, my uncle's arrest was starting to get to me. Apparently, my uncle's fingerprints were proof enough and it also was brought forward that he once threatened that girl which is really weird. We had just gotten back from his bail hearing and he was denied bail because of the 'evidence' against him and also because he is not a first-time offender.

Me: "I still don't understand how all this is possible!"

Baba: "There is a recording and the voice sounds exactly like Khaya's voice which is the final nail in the coffin."

Me: "So there's nothing that can be done to get him out?! really?!"

Baba: "Unfortunately so."

Me: "Kanti what am I paying that lawyer for?! What about uMaKhoza?! Can't she do something?!"

Baba: "She can't do anything that will make this case go away." It's times like these where I wish I had connections like high-class people.

Baba drives us home and parks the car in the driveway then we head inside. I walk straight into my bedroom where I find my wife trying to tie her waist trainer. I help her silently then kiss her shoulder.

Me: "Are your stitches healed njengoba ufaka leyonto?" I ask her.

Noma: "Not really but I have to tie it while it's still sensitive so it can go down quicker. I need my flat stomach back very soon, it's almost summer." I chuckle lightly.

Me: "I hear you, baby." I loosen up my tie and take it off before I start unbuttoning my shirt.

Noma: "Baby, how is the case going?" she asks now helping me undress.

Me: "His bail was denied and there won't be any hearings. He will be sentenced tomorrow morning."

Noma: "Oh Jehovah! I am really sorry baby."

Me: "It's okay love, where are my kids?"

Noma: "With our moms." I nod and head to the bathroom to take a shower.

It's morning and I'm dreading what awaits us in that court. I wake up alone in bed so I assume that Noma is nursing our son. She usually does it in the lounge with those baby nursery rhymes softly playing on the TV.

After my long shower, I go back to our bedroom make up the bed, and then open the closet. I get dressed then grab my keys and phone and then leave. I'm surprised when I find my wife in the kitchen making breakfast, looking all good.

Me: "Baby."

Noma: "Hey babe. You look great, come sit and eat." she serves me my breakfast that we both share.

Noma: "I'm coming with baby." she tells me as she takes the dishes to the kitchen. She comes back shortly and grabs her bag that I didn't even notice on the counter and we leave.

Me: "Let me go get Baba..."

Noma: "They said they will meet us there." I nod.

Judge: "Previewing all the evidence brought forward by the prosecution against the accused, I have made a decision. The accused is charged with the murder of Nandipha Mhlongo, the attempted murder of Ms. Nelihle Mkhize, and the attempt of kidnapping. The records also show that Mr Khayalethu Biyela is not a first-time offender."

Dlamini: "Your honor..." The judge stops him from talking and continues talking.

Judge: "I'm still speaking. Enough and accurate evidence was presented to the court and therefore I will be sentencing the defendant to 25 years imprisonment for the murder of a woman; 10 years imprisonment for the attempted murder and 5 years for attempted kidnapping. Court dismissed."

Officer: "Mr Biyela would like to speak to you." he says after tapping my shoulder. I walk to him slowly and stand in front of him.

Malume: "Eventually my bad ways were going to catch up with me for good so I guess this is it. Listen, I don't want you blaming yourself or thinking that it's your fault because it is not. It is my fault because I had been warned a million times about my bad ways but I never listened. I just want you to promise me that you will take care of your family and make sure you protect them at all costs. Apologize to my sister and MaKhoza for me, tell them that I love them."

Me: "You also take care of yourself."

Uncle: "Don't worry. I Love you mntaka sisi." he kisses my head after hugging me and lets the officers take him away.
