"C'mon." Nami whispers with a tug on my wrist, dragging me in the direction of the sky waver as Luffy is hauled back to dry-land by his leg; Zoro had fished him out of the white-white sea after Luffy catapulted himself off of the machine.
"What are we--" I cut myself off as I see our destination, whipping around to watch Luffy's face begin to gain some color again, before turning back to Nami with concern.
"Hold on, maybe we shouldn't..." The vision of Luffy going flying after losing control of the practical-jet-ski flashed in my mind as we continued to tiptoe towards it.
"It'll be fun! Don't you wanna try?" She attempts to sway me with a grin as we sneak behind the concerned crew members.
And, looking at the waver, a part of me is convinced; It did look fun, and it's not like neither of us could swim if we ended up being tossed into the clouds...
"Well... Maybe just really quick." After all, I had always wanted to try a jet ski before.
"But, shouldn't we ask Pagaya first?" I question apprehensively as Nami steps into the hull. I didn't want to just take the vehicle for a ride without permission.
"Oh, please. It'll be fine!" I sighed heavily, before taking her outstretched hand and clambering in behind her.
It had been a few hours since we burst through the clouds from our hazardous journey on the knock-up stream. Somehow, and I couldn't for the life of me understand why, the boat managed to stay afloat on top of the clouds instead of falling through them, like the laws of physics and science explained to me in class. It was as if there was a whole entire sea in the sky, one that could support vessels, as well as weird marine/aerial life that we discovered after an unfortunate incident with Usopp being chased by one; when he attempted to go sky-diving through the clouds... literally. Robin and Luffy rescued him, thankfully.
After that harrowing event, we were next attacked by a man who was able to skate among the clouds while wearing a brightly colored mask, donning a bazooka on his shoulder. Sanji called him a guerilla, so I assumed he was some kind of fierce combatant of the sky island people. Then we were heroically rescued by another stranger who introduced himself as 'The Sky Knight.' He rode on a pink-and-purple-spotted bird named Pierre, who had also happened to eat the horse-horse devil fruit and was able to turn into a pegasus (though none of us could understand how that was very useful, with him already being a bird large enough to ride on). Nonetheless, The Sky Knight gifted us a whistle to use for whenever we would need his aid, before flying off to who knows where; without actually answering any of our important questions.
So, we were basically sailing blind. But wait, it gets even weirder. We found and passed through this incredibly intricate tunnel called Heaven's Gate, where an old woman with wings came out with a camera. She was taking our pictures, being the gate inspector, entailing that we had to pay one billion extol per crew member. None of us knew what that form of currency was. It was strange, though; Despite the fact that the crew didn't pay the entrance fee, we were still permitted to enter 'God Land Skypiea,' and were even delivered there directly by something called the express shrimp. It raced along paths of clouds leading further into the sky, before we were vaulted into the white-white sea.
So finally, after seeing the sky island with our own eyes, the crew readily set out for adventure, heading straight for the shore. Nami, Robin, and I changed quickly into something more suitable; myself going with a (f/c) crop-top and shorts. Meanwhile, Zoro lowered the anchor, while everyone else was already playing in the bouncy, fluffy clouds that seemed to compose the entirety of the island.
