Rheanna’s POV

I wake up the next morning to find Nathan lying next to me. I can’t help but remember when this used to be our normality. I never thought we would have another chance, that I’d have another chance. After all I did break his heart and I thought he loved Renee, but I guess people change and it just so happens that we’ve been brought back together. As I lay with a smile on my face, I feel Nathan move around a bit. I look over at him and I watch as his eyes flicker open.

“Morning” I smile at him.

“Shit” he says, as sits up and frantically gets out of the bed.

“What’s up?” I ask him in confusion. Last night, he was acting like he’d been waiting for this to happen since we broke up. He even muttered that he loved me; I thought that meant something to him.

“I have to go. This should have never happened” he says.

“Of course” I say, as I slowly sit up. I knew it was too good to be true.

“Well what did you expect, Rheanna? I love Renee!” he says, as he throws his clothes back on. “You will never ever compare to her” he says, finally before walking towards the door.

“Wow” I say to myself, as I hear the front door slam shut. I suppose I never meant anything to him after all. I quickly get out of bed and get ready for the day. Just as I’m brushing my hair, my phone starts to ring. I pick it up in the hope that it’s Nathan apologising.

“Hello?” I ask down the phone, trying to hide the shakiness in my voice, from where I’ve been crying.

“Hello, is this Rheanna Boyes?”an unfamiliar voice asks.

“Yes” I say, as I wipe the tears from my eyes.

“I’m from the hospital. You asked us to call when your friend woke up. Jay McGuiness wasn’t it?” she asks me.

“Yes” I reply, not sure on how I’m going to pick him up now.

“Well he’s awake and he’s been asking for you. So when you’re ready, you can come and take him home” she says.

“Ok thanks” I tell her, before hanging up the phone. I continue to get ready before calling Max. After all he’s the only other person I can call in a time like this, isn’t he? I mean, god knows where Siva is and I wouldn’t have thought Jay would want to see him anyway. Then Tom isn’t around and Nathan now hates me again.

I dial Max’s number, before pressing the phone to my ear. “Hello?” he asks.

“Hey, Max, it’s Rheanna. I was wondering if you could give me a lift to the hospital.” I ask him.

“Yes of course, I’ll be right round. I hope everything is ok” he says, and I can hear him rushing about at the other end of the phone.

“Yeah, I just need to pick Jay up” I tell him.

“Why? What’s happened to Jay? Is he ok?” he asks and I can tell he’s starting to panic. I hear his front door shut and footsteps hitting the concrete.

“Yeah, he’s fine. I’ll explain on the way, ok?” I ask him, knowing that this is just slowing us down.

“Alright, bye” he says, before hanging up. I have just about got Leo ready when there’s a knock at the door.

“Come on Leo” I say, as I hold onto his hand and we walk towards the front door. I open it and sure enough, it’s Max.

“Are you ready to go?” Max asks. I nod, before stepping out of the door, still holding onto Leo. I lock the door behind me, before making my way over to the car. I sit Leo in the back and I put his seat belt on and I then I make my way round to the passenger seat. Max is already sitting inside and ready to go. As soon as I close the door, Max starts the car. “So what’s happened?” he asks me, with a concerned look on his face.
