Rheanna’s POV

It’s not long before we find ourselves outside the hospital.

“Can I leave Leo with you, Nathan?” I ask, I shoot a smile at Jay. He doesn’t really need a little kid running around, whilst he’s at the hospital and besides, he’s hardly going to tell me what happened if Leo is there.

“Yeah, we’ll wait here, won’t we Leo?” Nathan says, as he leans over the chair and pulls a funny face at Leo.

“Thanks” I say, as I give Leo a kiss goodbye, before getting out of the car. Jay soon follows me and we make our way towards the entrance. As soon as we get into the building, we walk towards the front desk and Jay still hasn’t said a word. I don’t know what happened to him, but whatever it was it had to be something pretty bad. I mean, who goes out one day and comes back with a massive cut on their face? As soon as we reach the desk, I look at Jay, but he just looks down at the floor, with his bundle of tissues still pressed to his face with his hand. I suppose I’ll have to explain what’s going on then.

“Erm” I mutter, but the woman behind the desk doesn’t look impressed.

“Yes?” she says, in a rude tone.

“Erm, bit rude” I say, before continuing with what I was originally going to say, “Anyway, my friend’s cut his face” I tell the woman and she sighs for a second.

“Is it an emergency?” she asks, as she taps something into her computer.

“Well, I don’t know. The cut is pretty deep, isn’t it Jay?” I ask, as I look at Jay. He looks up and nods.

“Can you move the tissue, so I can see?” she sighs again. She doesn’t seem like the happiest person in the world. Jay sighs before moving his hand from his face and revealing the cut on his face and the blood drenched tissue.

“Oh yes. That’s an emergency” the woman says, before standing up. “You seem to have lost a lot of blood, let me get someone” she says, as she moves across to another part of the desk, where she picks up a phone and begins to dial a few numbers.

“So what happened then?” I ask, as I turn back towards Jay.

“I don’t want to worry you” he says, before putting the tissue back over his cut.

“I think I can be the judge of that, can’t I? I’m a grown woman, Jay, just tell me”

“Fine, well after I left I bumped into Norman and well” he starts.

“What? Norman?!” I ask, in the hope that he’s made a mistake and it wasn’t Norman at all.

“See I knew you’d freak out” he sighs, just as the woman reappears.

“One of our professionals is on their way to come and examine your cut” the woman says. “Please, take a seat” she says, as she points at a group of chairs, which are on the other side of the reception. I nod, before making my way over to the seats. Jay sits down first and I sit down next to him.

“So what the hell is Norman doing back and why did he do that to you?” I ask him. I know he has grudge against me, but why would he do something to hurt Jay. He doesn’t even know I’m back in London.

“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you” he says.

“Come on Jay, you know what I’ve been though. I think I’ll believe you” I tell him.

“Find, he’s been selling drugs to Siva” he tells me.

“What? How do you know?” I ask, in shock. Ok, I wasn’t expecting that.

“Well I bumped into Norman and I told him that he wasn’t welcome around our area anymore. So he threatened me and told me to stay away from him. So me being the stupid idiot I am, followed him. Anyway when I got to the ally near the shop, Siva was there and him and Norman were doing a drug deal. Then Norman freaked out and pulled a weapon out of his pocket and he cut my face. But that isn’t even the worse part. The worse part is, Siva didn’t even try and stop it from happening and he just left me. After all these years, he left me. He didn’t even care enough to see if I was ok” he tells and at that moment my heart drops. How could Siva do something so heartless? I know he’s on the drugs and yeah, that can be hard. I mean, I’ve dealt before and I’ve known so many addicts, but not one of them had such a sweet nature like Siva. I think that just shows how much drugs can change a person.

Before I could even think of a response a doctor is pointed in our direction. He walks over to us, with a concerned look on his face. “You’re here about a cut you have on your cheek?” he asks.

“Yeah” Jay says, as he stands up.

“Can I see it?” he asks and with that Jay takes the tissue off of the cut again. “Alright, I’m going to need you to follow me” the man tells us and I stand up too. I follow the pair down the corridor and into a small waiting room. The doctor asks Jay his name and he writes it down on a little note pad. “Ok Jay, well looking at that cut on your face, I can see it definitely needs stitches. So I’m going to take you into this room behind me and we’re going to give you some aesthetic before we stitch up your cheek, is that ok with you?” Jay soon nods and walks towards the room. I follow too, but then the doctor stops me.

“I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to stay out here. Jay will be out shortly” the doctor says, as he and Jay disappear off into the room together. After a few minutes the doctor comes back out again and gives me a weak smile. “Look, we’ve decided that we’re going to keep your friend in over night for the anaesthetic to wear off, so maybe it would be best if you came back tomorrow and we’ll give you a call if he wakes up before then” he says.

“Oh ok then” I reply.

I give the doctor my phone number, before making my way out of the hospital and to where Nathan’s parked.

When I get there, I find Nathan sitting with Leo on his knee and Leo is pretending to drive. As I get closer I realise that Nathan is screaming and playing around with Leo. I open the passenger seat door to find a very embarrassed looking Nathan. “Having fun?” I laugh.

“Where’s Jay?” he asks me.

“He’s got to stay over night, so they told me to go home” I say, as I get into the car.

“Oh right, that’s fair enough. Did he tell you what happened?” he asks me, as he gets out of the car and puts Leo into his car seat. He then walks back round to the front and gets in the car.

“Yeah, it was Norman” I sigh and Nathan’s face drops slightly.

“What’s he doing back?” he asks. I explain everything to him and by the time we pull up at Jay’s house, I’ve finally finished explaining everything.

“Do you want me to stay with you tonight? I don’t want him to come after you” Nathan tells me.

“I’m sure he won’t” I laugh.

“No, but Siva is staying at Jay’s too remember, so what if he goes looking for him or even worse, what if he comes looking for Jay. I’d just rather know that you and Leo are safe” he tells me.

“Alright, but just for safety” I say, giving in and to be honest, it would probably be better if I had someone with me because I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I said no and something happened to Leo.
